Instructions

Numbers 1 to 5: Lay out the ice-cream puzzle pieces for the numbers 1 to 5. Ask the children to count the number of dots and then find the cone with that number. Observe which children know how many dots there are at a glance (subitise) without having to count them one by one.

Numbers 1 to 10: Lay out the ice-cream puzzle pieces for the numbers 1 to 10. Ask the children to count the number of dots and then find the cone with that number. Challenge the children to place the ice-creams in order from 1 to 10.
