Everyone is born confident, but somewhere down the line in upbringing children suppress their inner feelings, this suppression leads to manifestation of nervousness, Inferiority complex in many situations, I want to express and say something but I keep silent because of FEAR and ANXIETY” ICCWC program was designed to address, one of the core life skills in students “Communication”, This program was developed keeping in mind the learning needs of the students, The training design approach was based on Hands-on Learning & Experiential learning methodologies. This program was delivered to rural students in both the languages Kannada and English, students learned through “Learning by Doing” and “Awareness of self while facing audience/groups through experience, and those limiting beliefs that stops them from performing” Core Gap: · Become aware of your FEAR and ANXIETY · Understand the importance of 3C's in Speaking Skills · Become aware of your own Speaking Skills Patterns · Understand the importance of GESTURES and POSTURES · Learn to communicate with confidence Learning Objectives · Learn how to vent out FEAR and ANXIETY · Learn how not to be RETICENT · Learn effective ways of Speaking in Public and Groups · Learn how to communicate with confidence Learning Outcomes Introduction In the Indian Context, any aspirant success during hiring process is based on Communication Skills, while most of the employers rank verbal communication skills, among one of the top skills/qualities/parameters in the hiring process. We have seen through our experience good jobs and promotions go to the individuals who can communicate well I Can Communicate With Confidence? Why? “To achieve anything in life it is very important to learn the art of communication, while there are many skills that are necessary for success, Communication Skills is the STAR among skills, Communication skills can make or break ones career, We are all born confident but somewhere down the line it gets lost due to inhibitions and other factors” Ajit K A Brief Snapshot ICCWC project aims to develop students from rural areas and communities in understanding the “Importance of Self Expression” and “Speaking without fear”. The core focus is to nurture students to speak in front of audience without fear, learn the art of communication to communicate with confidence. Students in Metros and Urban cities get access to life skills, while students and children in rural areas and villages do not get easy access to life skills programs, some of them are not even aware such kinds of programs exists due to various reasons, This GAP led to the genesis of this ICCWC Project, to develop a programme that could address overcome RETICENCE in students. · 8000 Students were trained free of cost · 5000 learning Kits were distributed to students free of cost · 5000 learning handouts were distributed to students free of cost · 5000 reflection stickers were distributed to students free of cost · 250+ Teachers were trained · 32+ Rural educational institutions were covered · 19 Villages were covered around Shimoga & Davanagere District · 2000+ confidently gave their first talk to audience for first time in their life · 50+ Life Skills Topics were discussed · 300+ Hours of Training Delivery by one Facilitator · Special Blind Children were trained · Orphanage children were trained · ICCWC program was conducted FREE of Cost for all students and teachers · Economically poor students and rich in curiosity and learning · 4000+ Photos and few videos were taken during this project Post Training: Learning Retention Aids To enable learning retention and follow up, educators/teachers were encouraged to create communication clubs and practice Background ICCWC program was aimed at reaching out to rural students in (Shimoga & Davanagere) 2 Districts of Karnataka through this project I was able to reach. My sincere thanks to Students, Teachers, Principals, and Support Staff of Schools for extending their support, initially I had plan to reach out to 5000 Students with their support and encouragement, I was able to reach out to 8000 Students!! Thank you !!
