This is the Iberian Peninsula
Who was there first Greeks referred to the original inhabitants as
Iberians According to research the first Iberians were
thought to have arrived there between 5000-3000 B.C.
Some believe that they came from eastern Mediterranean.
And others believe they were related to the founders of the megalithic culture (UK, Ireland, France)
The most advanced Iberians was the the Tartessos
Celtics 1200 B.C. Celtic tribes entered the Iberian
peninsula from the north When they got there they mixed the
Iberians and started the celt-iberian race.
Phoenicians 1100 B.C. Phoenicians started to form colonies The most important colonies were Gadir
(now cardiz) Malaca (today's Malaga) and Abdera (today's Adra, in Almeria).
Carthaginians 228 B.C. Invaded Spain and conquered large
parts of it Carthaginians most important colonies
were the island Ibiza and Cartegena.
Punic wars
A war fought between Carthage and Rome from 264 B.C. – 146 B.C.
Largest wars at the time The main cause of the Punic Wars was
the conflict of interests between the existing Carthaginian Empire and the expanding Roman Republic
First Punic Wars 264-241 B.C. Rome won. Carthaginians lost a lot for
the price of peace
Bronze age Was a major advancement in evolution Because they would use bronze every
day, like we do with the internet
