May 2015 IB Results Congratulations to the 46 students who participated in the May 2015 IB examinations. We are very proud of all of the students who worked conscientiously to satisfy the rigorous requirements of the IB diploma. Eighteen students obtained the diploma including 11 who obtained the distinguished bilingual diploma. One student did not manage to meet the diploma requirements resulting in a 95% diploma pass rate. The highest score was an outstanding 41 diploma points achieved by Khalifa Al Khalifa. Eight students obtained diploma scores in the distinguished range of 34-‐45 points. The mean diploma point score was a solid 34 points this year, which was higher than the May 2014 mean IKNS diploma score of 33 points. Twenty-‐eight other students obtained certificates in one or more IB subjects, achieving very good grades. Course candidates participated in the majority of IB courses offered at IKNS, including TOK, which was very pleasing. The average grade obtained by all IKNS candidates (diploma and certificate) was 5.31 (out of a maximum of 7). May 2015 IKNS IB Results per Subject We are very pleased that the IKNS school average in the majority of subjects was higher than the worldwide average. It was the first time for IKNS students to sit for English A: Literature, History HL and Arabic B extended essays. The feedback from the internal assessment moderators was mostly very pleasing. Table 1 shows the analysis of the May 2015 results per subject. The number of IKNS candidates who sat for each subject, the number of students achieving each grade (out of 7), and the IKNS and worldwide average grades for each subject.
