    MYP Coordinator/Team Leader Job Description 2013:

    Supporting teachers, students, and wider school community in the

    advancement of the IB programme at Soundview.

    IB Coordinator/Team Leader Roles & ResponsibilitiesAdministration

    Provide leadership in the development, implementation and assessment of the IB instructional program as well as

    the evaluation of the program.

    Support teachers in implementing the MYP by providing guidance in IB developments

    Coordinate exhibitions, the personal project, and graduation presentations with the MYP staff.

    Coordinate the student ambassador program, open houses, and program information nights with the MYP staff,

    Development, and Admissions.

    Work with the Assistant Head of School and School Counselor to coordinate student support.

    Work with HOS/admin to comply with IBO regulations

    Act as Outplacement Officer for the 8th grade class, and facilitate relationships between Soundview and high

    schools.

    Inform the Administration and Board regularly of MYP progress at Soundview.

    Support and oversee all aspects of the execution of the Middle Years Programme.

    Professional development

    Collaborate with HOS and Asst. HOS to plan staff development.

    Ensure that staff are made aware of IB workshop & conference opportunities as appropriate.

    Identify IB professional development needs and opportunities on and off campus.

    Keep a record of workshop attendance and school visits.

    Communication

    Make copies of relevant IBO MYP publications available to all staff.

    Share all relevant information received from the IBO. Keep on shared folder as needed.

    Coordinate, and facilitate meetings for required evaluation documentation.

    Prepare evaluation documentation Act as the liaison between the school and the IBO/respond to requests for information.

    Provide outreach to the wider IBMYP community through OCC discussion forums, e-mail and school visits.

    Establish/maintain links with other IB MYP schools in the region.

    Provide content for Soundviews MYP website and liaise with pages webmaster.

    In summary:

    1. Clearly communicating the vision and goals of the IB/MYP organization;

    2. Sharing in the development and implementation of the IB/MYP curriculum and assessment;

    3. Coordinating and delivering ongoing school-based IB professional development through horizontal and vertical

    articulation; and

    4. Acting as a pedagogical leader for the MYP school/campus. Together with school administration, the coordinator

    will maintain contact with subject area leaders/curriculum specialist, subject departments and teachers, andwith the IB.

    Additional Roles & Responsibilities:

    Humanities & Language A Teacher

    Performs the responsibilities of the Humanities and Language A Teacher

    In addition teachers are required to:

    Perform any additional responsibilities identified in the Faculty-Staff Handbook (F-S Handbook) or as

    reasonably assigned by the Head of School or his designees;

    Fulfill Soundview Schools mission;

    Adhere to the F-S handbook expectations and duties as a Soundview Teacher;

    Implements the IB framework, Positive Discipline, and Critical Thinking in classroom; Build a positive work environment and community;

    Reflect on ones teaching and develop a deep understanding of the three frameworks; and

    Demonstrate professional conduct

    Coordinators schedule (weekly % of time allocated):

    Teaching duties 87.5%

    MYP Coordination responsibilities 12.5%
