Dolev Tabacaro Senior Seminar, Period 2 Feb 02/ 2011 Question 3: I do not agree that we are completely oblivious to our unconsciously motivated behavior. It depends on where you were raised and what you were exposed to growing up that defines our unconscious motivated behavior. For example I grew up in Israel, and I was exposed to much less prejudice than someone growing up in America. Most of the people in the area I grew up in Israel are Jewish. I was not exposed to the prejudices experience in other countries such as the prejudice of blacks by whites in America. The Holocaust made us more sensitive to discrimination; therefore, I never was thought to discriminate. It is not a convenient excuse to justify any bias on my part. 2. i. I expected I would score Prejudiced on the IAT Test because of all the information I get from the media and other second hand sources. In fact I believe I am not prejudice but I feel the media would affect my sub conscious. The results of the test were inconclusive. The results read, “There were too many errors made to determine a result”. I felt so bad about taking the test because I believe that I am definitely not prejudice. Perhaps this feeling got in the way when I took the test.

Question 3:

I do not agree that we are completely oblivious to our unconsciously motivated behavior.
