this event, motivational videos, stories and thoughts were mailed daily to the staff and students of IIAPS.

The aim of the program was to spread the positivity and cherish the optimistic aspects in day to day

activities of life.

Phytochemical evaluation of the wild and cultivated varieties of Eranda Mula (Roots of Ricinus communis

Linn.). Conclusion: Both cultivated and wild varieties have a chemical similarity except higher

percentage of alkaloid in cultivated than wild variety. HPTLC finger printing shows similarities in both

the varieties. Heavy metals were within prescribed limit in both the varieties. Krunal A Doshi,

large scale production of drugs, their storage and packaging.

A. Near-infrared

spectroscopy Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a spectroscopic method that uses the near-infrared region

of the electromagnetic spectrum (from about 800 nm to 2500 nm). Near-infrared spectroscopy

is based on molecular overtone and combination vibrations. The discovery of near-infrared

energy is ascribed to William Herschel in the 19th century, but the first industrial application

began in the 1950s.One advantage of the technique is that NIR can typically penetrate much

farther into a sample than mid infrared radiation. Near-infrared spectroscopy is, therefore, not

a particularly sensitive technique, but it can be very useful in probing bulk material with little

or no sample preparation.

Typical applications include pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics (including blood sugar and

pulse oximetry), food and agrochemical quality control, and combustion research, as well as

research in functional neuroimaging, sports medicine & science, elite sports training,

astronomy, ergonomics, rehabilitation, neonatal research, brain computer interface, urology

(bladder contraction) and neurology (neurovascular coupling).

B. X- ray fluorescence gun

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is the emission of characteristic "secondary" (or fluorescent) X-rays

from a material that has been excited by bombarding with high-energy X-rays or gamma rays.

The phenomenon is widely used for elemental analysis and chemical analysis, particularly in

the investigation of metals, glass, ceramics and building materials, and for research in

geochemistry, forensic science and archaeology.
