Wonder at His Power

Psalm 8

Psalm 8:1-4O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him,And the son of man that You visit him?

• Mankind should know that God is viewing His mighty works.

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.“

• Man –Man is to enjoy and use those things created for him

(v.6-8).

• Man – God was concerned and interested in Adam and Eve

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. - Genesis 2:15

And the Lord God said, " It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” - Genesis 2:18

The Reason

• Man – God was concerned and interested in Adam and Eve

And Adam said:" This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man. "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

– Genesis 2:23-24

The Reason

• Man – He is still interested in mankind.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

- 2 Peter 3:9

The Reason

• Man – He is still interested in mankind.

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. – John 14:13-14

• Man – He is still interested in mankind.

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. – John 15:7– John 1:1-14
