I Salute to veterans First Immanuel students paid tribute to those who served First Immanuel Lutheran School of Cedarburg's fourth through eighth grade students honored veterans of the American Legion with a special chapel service and flag salute on Tuesday. The service provided an opportunity for the students to thank veterans and learn a little more about the veterans' experiences in service to the country. The 45-minute chapel service took place in the church sanctuary and included several songs sung by the students or performed by the student band. There were readings by several students, a message from Kenny Miller, who is a Vietnam veteran and First Immanuel parisioner and a special drama performed by several students. After the service, the students and veterans headed outside for a flag/ gun salute performed by the American Legion. Afterward, the veterans talked about their service to the country; and answered questions from the students. Veterans and students of First Immanuel salute as the American flag is raised. Students have an opportunity to chat with Bob Shappell, a former Peter Wollner post commander, during First lmrnanuel's crtbuce on Tuesday. Salute to veteransFirst Immanuel students paid tribute to those who served

First Immanuel Lutheran School of Cedarburg's fourth through eighth grade students honoredveterans of the American Legion with a special chapel service and flag salute on Tuesday. The serviceprovided an opportunity for the students to thank veterans and learn a little more about the veterans'experiences in service to the country.
