Happy Summer, everyone!
Recently, we were lucky enough
to spend a few weeks in Maine,
relaxing at my parents house.
Nothing better than time spent in
the woods of Maine.
Thank you to ASCNE member,
Roxanne Gura, for the gorgeous
photo of Jacob and Skye at
Topsmead State Forest. She has a
lovely eye, and the patience to
deal with the absurdity of Aussies
in a photo shoot.
Special thanks to all of you who
took the time to submit items for
this issue of New England Aussie!
You’re what makes the
newsletter possible!
Please send news, brags, and
updates announcements about
upcoming events; and event
results to me at
[email protected]. I’m
especially grateful for
photographs to be included with
the above (please tell me who is
in the photo).
Thank you all and have fun with
your wonderful dogs!

Event updates
July 29-30 stock trial in NH is full with a small wait list.
Kate Vile is hosting the November 5 meeting at Positive Kinection, Sawyer Brook Plaza, Rt 10 South, Grantham, NH.
We still do not have a location for the Sept 10, 2017 meeting
Canine Mastery may have an Obedience and/or Rally Show & Go the weekend before the Obedience/Rally trial that is August 5 & 6 at Canine Mastery.
The premium is out for the Agility trial at Canine Mastery on August 19 - 20, 2017.
HMM - Lee thinks there may be all three events (Obedience, Conformation, Agility) held on Friday. Moving Agility to the stock rings in back was discussed. Both areas would have to be inspected to see which had the better footing.
Old Business Open positions For those members looking for ways to give back to the club, elections are this November. There will be open positions on the board. Please think of running. ASCNE bylaws No report Kathy Buckley asked about holding meetings on Skype or GoToMeeting. It looks like these options are allowed per the ASCNE by-laws. ASCNE would have to pay a monthly fee. Lee Prager thinks a Communications position might be a good idea to look into and oversee this type of thing. Rom banquet - Alexis Reidy said she’s thinking of switching up the menu a bit. Let her know if you have any suggestions. Dianne Barrett said please don’t get rid of the corned beef. Art Landry said they will not be having the Sept stock trial in 2018 as it is right before Nationals and they plan on going to Colorado. Bill Haggis asked about WASCUNY trials not being on the ASCNE website calendar. Robin will put other ASCA club events there, but someone has to give her the information.
Lee Prager brought up the treasury balance. At $18,349.69 it is almost ½ of the $32,657.90 we had in July of 2016. It was noted that with so many options to choose from entries are down in everything, and everywhere. Right now show chairs set fees depending on budget, with the cost of facility being a big part. Are people willing to pay increased fees for premium facilities (such as indoors). One suggestion was to increase entry fees. A break if entering all runs for the trial and lower pre-entries fees was met with agreement. Dianne Barrett made the motion, Diane Johnson seconded, to suggest Show Chairs increase their entry fees for 2018 and then when setting the calendar for 2019 look at finances again and consider the possibility of setting the fees for all trials/shows across the board. Motion passed.
Wendy Richmond made a motion to adjourn, Ellen Kurdzo seconded. Meeting adjourned
1:55pm.
