NUMBERS & IMPACT

Drop-in CenterHosted 795 visitors at our Welcome Center, which provides a place of refuge from the street and where anyone can find assistance obtaining housing and vital documents. The Welcome Center also provides access to essentials such as food, mail, and survival/hygiene kits.

Free ClinicProvided 100 free medical or psychiatric consultations.

Youth and Young Adult Services Provided developmentally-informed supportive services and counseling to 66 homeless and at-risk 17-to-29 year olds in our Before Thirty program, placing 28 into housing. Conducted street outreach to 186 runaway, homeless and at-risk 17-to-24 year olds through our Youth Connect program, distributing 98 survival/hygiene kits, and conducting 84 Youth Housing Assessments (linking youth to District housing provider).

Transitional HousingIn partnership with area congregations, operated two small transitional shelters and provided 8 men and women with a safe place to stay while rebuilding their lives.

PROGRAMS & IMPACT

Permanent Supportive HousingServed 845 highly vulnerable, chronically homeless people (496 Adults and 349 children) throughout the District. Our PSH case managers provide continued support to empower participants to achieve personal goals for recovery, health, financial stability, family re-unification, work and social well-being. Our PSH programs have a housing retention rate of 99%.

Street OutreachWelcome Center Outreach served 137 individuals. Youth Outreach served an additional 186 individuals on the street.

Veterans ServicesOur award-winning Veterans First program served 602 veterans and their family members throughout DC and eight surrounding counties—ending and preventing homelessness for 535.

Job PlacementUsing an innovative “employment first” fast-track approach, placed 200 people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness into jobs. This includes 84 Veterans First program participants. AimHire Jobs First program participants earned an average of $15.85/hour.
