I Corinthians 1:7-9

The word “coming” in verse 7 is the word from which we get our word apocalypse. It is a word which means a revealing or a revelation and refers to the revelation of Christ from heaven at both the Rapture and after the Tribulation. Two other words used of Christ’s coming: - Parousia, which refers to a coming in person. - Epiphaneia, which refers to an appearance in glory.

Christ will reveal Himself from heaven as He comes in His personal presence, visibly appearing in all of His glory. The word “waiting” refers to an eager and expectant waiting for that of which you are certain. Paul was reminding the Corinthians that they were being influenced by the world out of which they would be taken.

The word “confirmed” means to establish, to make firm, to make stedfast. We who have been sanctified will also be firmly established unto the end; we are secure unto the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not only will we make it to the end, but we will be blameless and without accusation . both in position and practice,

We are not going to make it to the end because of our own righteousness and strength but because of the faithfulness of God. God has called us into fellowship with His Son and He will be faithful to that calling. We will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ because of the faithfulness of God.

God has called us into the fellowship of His Son and He will remain faithful to that call so that we will make it to the day of our Lord Jesus Christ blameless.
