minister to iricoming students the "1977 Student Information Form," pre-0
pared by the A.C.E. This studyreporteon the anAlysis of student re-.
iponses to that instrument,. and compares responses with other two-year
college entrants nationwide and with 1976, 1975, 1974, and 1973 L.A.C.C.
entrants.
A PROCEDURE QF T STUDY
The A.C.E. Research Office forwarded to L.A.C.C. 3,000 copies of the
"1977 Student Information Form," and these forms were issued to student
taking the Guidance Examination. StUdents were invited to completeIt
form if they so d red and were encouraged .to de so with the observa7
tion that it permitted them the opportunity to express opinions about cur-
rent issues and that the information would permit us to compare 'sbme of. .
their cfdaracteristics and attitudes with other students throughout the_
country., Completed forms were then returned to the A.C.E., where tallies
were performed by them: The nationwide analysis by A.C.E.
F.,in their document "The American Freshman: National,Nori6 for
its copy of wtiich is available in the L.A.C.C.'ResearCh OffiCel.
