Set up in 1981, the French-Italian company ATR was born of a shared desire: a human adventure forged around the belief that turboprop aircraft (with propellers) constituted a solution for the future, due not only to the level of safety and comfort offered, or to their flexible use and their total synergy with long-haul planes, but also due to their very low energy consumption and excellent environmental performances.

ATR is currently the world leader on the market for regional aircraft with 90 seats or

less. Since its creation, ATR has sold over 1,500 aircraft and has today over 190 ope-

rators based in about 90 countries. ATR planes have totaled about 25 million flight

hours. Our head office is in Toulouse, and equal shares of our capital are held by our

two partners: Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi (a Finmeccanica group company).

ATR is ISO 14001-certified, the international reference standard in the field for envi-

ronmental friendliness.

Turboprop planes offer many advantages. Over short distances, propeller planes consume significantly less fuel than jet planes, also known as turbofans. Furthermore, turbo propulsion technology has fewer constraints, which means that this type of aircraft can operate in various conditions. Due to new lightweight materials (also known as composite materials), ultra-modern navigation systems and more powerful engines, ATR optimizes this technology and confirms its expertise. The new ATR-600 is the perfect example of the company’s technological mastery and unrivalled performances.

FOCUSINSPIRED BY A FAIRLYSIMILAR CONCEPT!Like the turbofan, the turboprop

plane uses a thermodynamic turbine.

However, the turboprop combines

this with the interaction of a propel-

ler, which allows energy produced at

the turbine outlet to be reused more

efficiently. With its large propeller

and its gearbox, the turboprop mo-

ves a bigger quantity of air for a re-

duced thermal power. This saves en-

ergy and therefore requires less fuel.

The cabin in our planes is the most spacious in its category (up to 90 seats or less). In addition, the noise level is not higher than that produced by a turbofan. Moreover, the LED lighting system creates a warm and soothing atmosphere to make your flight a unique experience.

ATR worked with the famous designer

Giugiaro to design the layout of its new

passenger cabin. The result is a relaxing

contemporary setting. The new Armo-

nia cabin that equips all new-generation

ATR planes is more spacious and more

comfortable: the new seats offer more

leg room and overall passenger ease.

Overhead bin storage capacity has also

been enhanced significantly with 10%

more volume to optimize stowage effi-

ciency. Finally, each feature inside the

cabin has been designed for your well

-being, as with the LCD screens inte-

grated into the ceiling were designed

for your in-flight entertainment .

Is a more environmentally-friendly travel important to you? ATRs are the regional planes with the world’s lowest energy consump-tion. They are also the most ecological ones. Furthermore, in terms of consumption per passenger and per kilometer, ATRs are more energy-efficient than a car! Moreover, thanks to the low level of noise, our planes are welcome at all airports around the world, even those that apply the strictest regulations, notably those near city centres. One such example is London City Airport located in the heart of the city.

Over a distance of less than 500km,

the fuel consumption per passenger of

the ATR is 15% less than that of a car,

and 60% less than that of an equiva-

lent-sized jet plane. Consequently, in

terms of greenhouse gas emissions,

an ATR plane produces up to 60% less

than a jet plane.
