Pal atka team had come here for two games and the rain of Thursday afternoon prevented a game being played two I games or a doubleheader were play ed yesterday on the South Magnolia street diamond The first game was I called at 240 with a small attendance which was considerably Increased by the close of the game Brown delivered the goods for the home boys in the first game and Had ley received Dillon pitched for the visitors and gave up seven hits as against two for Brown Neither side scored until the fourth when after Donaldson was retired on a fly to left Waller went to first on four wide ones Harris advanced him to second WaIler and Harris stole sec- ond ¬ and third and on Dillons balk WaIler came in with the first only and winning run of the game Both teams worked hard to score In the last five Innings but with a man on second and third for Palatka three separate Innings and with the bases full for Ocala once the side at bat was retired and the game closed with a score of one to nothing in favor of the locals After an intermission of ten min- utes ¬ the second game was on Man sell and White composed the battery- for Palatka and Donaldson and Had ley for Ocala No runs were made un ¬ til the fourth inning when Palatka sent two men over the home plate Calhoun reached first on Bennetts er ¬ ror Collins fanned Dillon hit over third base safely Then came Smith the heavy hitter of the team who placed his second twobagger over the centerfielders head scoring Calhoun and Dillon- In the sixth Wailer hit to left field for two bases Harris advanced him to third and he scored on Calhouns er- ror in handling Bennetts hit to short Neither side scored In the remainder of the game The Palatka team is composed of a gentlemanly set of young men and it is a pleasure to entertain them on the diamond These games were marked with no squabbling and bickering as some games played here this season and the spectators and players were well pleased with the games yesterday WOODMEN MEETING- The monthly meeting of Fort King Camp last night was more slimly at- tended ¬ than usual The regular busi- ness ¬ was nattended to and one candi- date elected to membership Four ap-
