The Cloisonne Process

• After being struck from a copper/bronze material, adie imprint is made from the artwork supplied

• A mold is created for the outline of the design and theshape of the pin is cut out

• Color is added by pouring a powdered glass materialinto the recesses created by the mold

• Each color is then fired in a kiln at very high temperatures• This process is repeated for each color to ensure

fantastic color separation• The "final touch" involves plating the pin with gold or

silver and then polishing to create a beautiful finishedpin
