In all self monitoring/HACCP (Hazardous Analysisand Critical Control Point) systems, theimplementation of good cleaning procedures isextremely important in ensuring good hygiene. Oneof the most important issues is the prevention ofcross-contamination.

Vikan has devised a unique way of helping toeliminate cross-contamination, using colour codedcleaning zones. By dividing the production premisesinto visually separated zones, where each zone hasits own coloured set of cleaning tools, hygiene canbe improved and cross-contamination can beeliminated.

Cleaning tools can spread bacteria from room toroom, if used in several phases of the productionprocess or used for widely different purposes. Thereis a need for cleaning systems which promote hygienic behaviour and Vikan cleaning toolsaccomplish this.

By colour coding your production premises and using the appropriately coloured cleaning toolsfor each section, cross-contamination can be avoided whilst promoting hygienic behaviouramongst employees and ensuring that they understand the cleaning plans of the company.

Hygienic Valves

Description

Material: 316 CF8M stainless steel conforming to ASTM A351 annealed and pasivated for corrosionresistance.

Seals: The seals fully encapsulate the ball eliminating cavities for bacteria to form. The standard sealsare virgin PTFE but they are also available with 15% glass filled PTFE. 25% carbon reinforced PTFEstainless steel reinforced PTFE and UHMW are available on request.

Pressure: 1/2” to 2” 68 Bar 21/2” to 4” 55 Bar at 37°C (maximum 200°C depending on seals).

Actuation: Manual handle with ISO mount or air actuated, single acting spring return (normally openor closed) and double acting. In aluminium and stainless steel.

Advantages: Polished bore to 3A certification and field serviceable with all spare parts and sealsavailable.

Fittings: Standard terminations are Butt Weld and Tri-clamp. Available to order with RJT, DIN, SMSand IDF fittings.

Transair®Transair® prevents the problems caused by rust which affects galvanised steel systems. Due toconsistent clean quality air, from compressor outlet to machines, Transair® aluminium pipeensures higher longevity of equipment and avoids frequent changes of filtration elements. Plastics, Fabrications& Hygienic Cladding

Polypropylene cladding sheets are general-purpose plastic that is lightweight, resistantto chemicals and has good mechanical strength. It is manufactured from food gradepolymers which make it suitable for food contact. It can be fabricated using hot airwelding and line bending equipment.

White Sheets

UPVC is an industrial engineering plastic that has excellent chemical resistanceincluding most acids and alkalis. It has a high level of rigidity making it ideal forfabrication.

Conditions of Sale Kiowa Ltd1. Definitions

1.1 ‘Customer’ means the person who buys or agrees to buy the goods from the Company.1.2 ‘Conditions’ means the terms and conditions of sale set out in this document and any special terms and conditions agreed in writing by

the Company.1.3 ‘Goods’ means the [article or articles] products or services which the Customer agrees to buy from the Company.1.4 ‘Price’ means the price for the goods excluding carriage, packing, insurance and VAT.1.5 ‘The Company’ means Kiowa Limited, The Reservation, East Road, Sleaford, Lincolnshire NG34 7BY.1.6 ‘Contract’ means any contract made between the parties that incorporates the Conditions.

2. Conditions Applicable2.1 These conditions shall apply to all contracts for the sale of goods by the Company to the Customer to the exclusion of all other terms and

conditions including any terms or conditions which the Customer may purport to apply and any purchase order confirmation of order orsimilar document.

2.2 Any typographical, clerical or other error or emission in any sales literature, quotation, price list, acceptance of offer, invoice or otherdocument or information issued by the Company shall be subject to correction without liability on the part of the Company.

3. Examination of Goods3.1 It is the responsibility of the Customer to examine the goods immediately upon delivery.3.2 The Company will accept no responsibility for shortage, loss or damage unless:-

3.2.1 Any shortage or damages is noted on the delivery sheet AND;3.2.2 All carriers conditions have been complied with in full by the Customer or consignee AND;3.2.3 A clear signature has been given on the delivery sheet and/or notification in writing of any damage or shortage is sent to the

Company and also to any carriers immediately AND/OR;3.2.4 Notification in writing of non delivery is sent to the Company within 14 days of this invoice. The quantity of any consignment of

goods is recorded by the Company upon despatch from the Company’s place of business shall be conclusive evidence of thequantity received by the Customer on delivery unless the Customer can provide conclusive evidence proving the contrary.

4. Delivery4.1 The Company will use all reasonable endeavours to adhere to any time stated for delivery but any dates quoted for delivery are

approximate only and the Company shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the goods however caused.4.2 The Company will not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss (all three of which terms include, without limitation, pure

economic loss, loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and like loss), costs, damages, charges or expenses caused directly orindirectly by any delay in the delivery of goods (even if caused by the Company’s negligence), nor will any delay entitle the Customer toterminate or rescind the Contract unless such delay exceeds [180] days.

4.3 Terms and conditions for delivery are only applicable in the UK. For delivery outside of the UK please contact the Company’s exportdepartment.

4.4 Unless otherwise agreed delivery of the goods shall take place at the Customer’s place of business.4.5 Where the Company makes delivery of the goods to the Customer’s place of business or any other place as agreed in writing, all charges

in relation to carriage, including, without limitation transport costs, insurance and unloading, will at the Company’s option, by borne tothe Customer.

4.6 If for any reason the Customer does not accept delivery of any goods when they are ready for delivery then the goods will be deemed tohave been delivered, risk passing to the Customer (including loss or damage caused by the Company’s negligence) and the Company may;

4.6.1 Store the goods until actual delivery whereupon the Customer will be liable for all related costs and expenses (including withoutlimitation storage and insurance); or

4.6.2 Sell the goods at the best price readily obtainable and (after deduction of all reasonable storage and selling expenses) charge theCustomer for any shortfall below the Contract price.

4.7 The Company reserves the right to deliver in instalments and any failure to deliver one instalment will not entitle the Customer toterminate the Contract.

5. The Price and Payments5.1 The Price for the goods shall be the price set out in the Company’s price list, published on the date of delivery or deemed delivery. The

Price is exclusive of VAT.5.2 Payment of the Price and VAT shall be due within 30 days of the date of this invoice.5.3 Interest on overdue invoices shall accrue from the date when payment becomes due entitle date of payment at a rate of 2.5% per month

and shall accrue at such a rate after as well as before any Court Judgement.5.4 The Company reserves the right, by giving notice to the Customer before delivery, to increase the price of goods to reflect any increase in

the cost to the Company which is due to any factor beyond the control of the Company (such as, without limitation, any foreignexchange fluctuations, currency regulation, alteration of duties, significant increase in the costs of labour; materials, or other costs ofmanufacture) any changes in delivery dates, quantities or specifications for the goods which is requested by the Customer, or any delaycaused by any instructions of the Customer or failure by the Customer to give the company adequate information or instructions.

6. Retention of TitleUntil full payment of the monies due by the Customer to the Company:-6.1 The title in the Goods will not pass to the Customer but the risk in the Goods shall be borne by the Customer from the date of the

delivery by the Company, it’s servants, agents or otherwise to the Customer AND;6.2 The Customer shall (at its own expense) store the Goods separately from all other goods in its possession, marked in such a way that they

are clearly identified as the Company’s property and stored in a proper manner suitable to the type of goods involved AND;6.3 The Customer shall insure and keep insured Goods to the full Price against ‘all risks’ to the reasonable satisfaction of the Company until

the date that property in the Goods passes to the Customer and shall whenever requested by the Company produce a copy of such policyof insurance AND;

6.4 The Customer irrevocably authorises the Company, its servant, agents or otherwise to enter the premises where the said Goods are and toremove these in the event of:-6.4.1 Any distress or execution being levied upon any of the assets of the Customer and/or6.4.2 The commencement of legal proceedings against the Customer for the purpose of insolvency, bankruptcy or liquidation and/or6.4.3 A Receiver is appointed over the whole or any part of the Customers undertaking and/or6.4.4 Any meeting of creditors of the Customer is called

7. Restocking ChargeA 20% restocking charge will be made in respect of current stock items returned as incorrectly ordered by the Customer. The Company will notaccept return of any Goods specially ordered or manufactured to the Customers requirements.

8. Safety and Product Recalls8.1 The Customer shall comply at all times with the written instructions and all written guidelines issued from time to time attached to the

Goods concerning their storage and use and the Customer shall refer its employees and its customers to such instructions and guidelines.8.2 The Customer should satisfy itself that the persons responsible for the storage and use of any goods supplied by the Company have all the

information required on health and safety and the Company shall not be liable to the Customer in any civil proceeding brought by theCustomer against the Company in respect of breach of the user instructions or any applicable health and safety legislation or anyregulations, orders or directions made pursuant to such health and safety legislation in force from time to time or under any directive,regulation, order or other instrument relating to health and safety where such exclusion of liability is permitted by law.

8.3 The Customer shall keep the Company properly informed of all customer complaints concerning the goods and shall comply with anydirections of the Company in any issues, proceedings or negotiations relating to such complaint.

8.4 In the event of any recall of the Goods by the Company the Customer shall co-operate fully and promptly with any steps taken by theCompany under the Condition below.

8.5 The Company may at its discretion recall any goods already sold by the Company to its Customers, (whether for a refund or credit orreplacement of the goods which shall in each case be undertaken by the Company) and/or issue any written or other notification to itsCustomers about the manner of use of any goods already sold by the Company to its Customers. The Customer agrees to give allreasonable assistance to the Company or the manufacturer in resisting any claim which may arise under any recall of product by theCompany or the manufacturer of such product.

9. Warranties and Liabilities9.1 The Company disclaims any express or implied warranties of fitness for purpose of any product or service recommendation provided by

them, unless the requirements of the Customer from the Company have been issued in writing, stating what specifications or standardsthe Customer requires, together with a detailed description of the application, which must be formerly accepted in writing by theCompany.

9.2 Under no circumstances will the Company replace any Goods in advance without first being able to examine the goods for themselves.Examination may also include examination by the manufacturer.

9.3 The Customer is responsible for the costs of transporting defective goods to the Company for repair or replacement. When returninggoods the Customer must quote a returns number on the packaging (which can be obtained from the Company) and provide a writtendescription of the defect which the Customer claims is covered by the Warranty. If the Customer does not comply with this procedure theCompany shall have no obligation to consider the Customer’s claim.

9.4 The Company shall not be liable for any breach of any warranty where:-9.4.1 The Customer fails to notify the Company in writing of the alleged defect within 3 days of the time when the Customer discovers or ought

to have discovered the defect; or9.4.2 The Customer makes any further use of the Goods after giving such notice; or9.4.3 The defect arises because the Customer failed to follow the Company’s oral or written instruction as to the storage, commissioning,

use or maintenance of the goods or good trade practice; or9.4.4 The Customer alters or repairs the goods without the written consent of the Company; or9.4.5 In respect of any defect arising from wilful damage or negligence; or9.4.6 If the total price for the Goods has not been paid by the due date for payment; or9.4.7 There is any type of defect or damage specifically excluded by the Company by notice in writing.

9.5 Any goods replace will belong to the Company and any repaired or replacement goods will be guaranteed on these terms for theunexpired portion of warranty.

9.6 The Company reserves the right to repair or replace any goods found to be in breach of warranty.9.7 Save for sales to consumers all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by the statute or common law (save the conditions implied

10. General10.1 If any provision of these conditions is held by any competent authority or court to be invalid or unenforceable in part the validity of the

other provisions of these conditions and the remainder of these provisions in question shall not be affected.10.2 Any information relating to details of the Company’s business operations, proprietary rights and techniques, contemplated new products

and Customer lists given by the Compan’y must be treated by the customer as confidential and not divulged to any third party withoutthe prior written consent of the Company. This obligation does not relate to information which is public knowledge through no fault ofthe Customer.

10.3 Responsibility for the recording and accuracy of order numbers lies solely with the Customer when placing any order.10.4 This contract is subject to the laws of England and Wales.
