Hydronic separator-manifoldHydroLink™
Function
The Hydrolink, a new device combining a hydronic separator anddistribution manifold, is used in heating and air-conditioningsystems to allow di erent heat adjustments of the various roomswhen there is only one boiler or chiller. The various are compact, and can be easily inany kind of hydronic circuit, with the advantages of ease ofinstallation and a saving of useful living space.

Operating principleWhen a single system contains a primary generating circuit, with itsown pump, and a secondary user circuit, with one or moredistribution pumps, operating conditions may arise in the systemwhere the pumps interact, creating abnormal variations in flowrates and pressures in the circuits. In the HydroLink there is a low pressure loss zone, which enablesthe primary and secondary circuits connected to it to behydraulically independent of each other; the flow in one circuitdoes not create a flow in the other if the pressure loss in thecommon section is negligible. In this case, the flow rates passing through the respective circuitsdepend exclusively on the flow characteristics of the pumps, preventing reciprocal influence due to connection in series.Downstream of the hydronic separation zone are the flow and returnmanifolds to which the various secondary distribution circuits canbe connected.
Three possible hydronic balance situations are shown below asexamples.

Support brackets
The HydroLink externalversions 2+2 and 3+1 aresupplied complete withsuitable wall-mountingbrackets, which make itpossible to adjust thefront-to-back positioning.
InstallationHydroLink units should be installed in accordance with thediagrams shown in this leaflet, ensuring the correct connection ofthe flow and return pipework and the main and branch connections.HydroLinks units can even be installed upside down, as long as theconnection logic shown is adhered to.
The 1/2” F connections must only be used for connecting an airvent valve and drain cock, and not for connecting branch circuits.
Insulation
The Hydrolink is supplied with heat-preformed shell insulation. Thissystem ensures not only perfect heat insulation but also thetightness required to prevent atmospheric water vapour fromentering the unit. For this reason, this type of insulation may also beused in cooling water circuits, as it prevents condensation fromforming on the surface of the valve body.RT
