The Artist along with the design team view the public art as being fully integrated with the architecture, and structural engineering so that it is woven into the very fabric of the building, by physically supporting it, to form a unifi ed aesthetic language of design.

The formal aspects of the artwork are com-prised of strong shapes and sculptural con-crete forms that are integrated into the supporting columns of the substation and en-trance buildings, the bus canopy and double-height columns below grade.

The passengers’ movements throughout the station also contribute to the evolving im-pact and characteristics of the public art. The shadows that these sculptural objects produce either naturally through daylight or through lighting design is part of the na-ture of the artwork, these effects will change throughout the course of the day and indeed the change in seasons. The true beauty of the art lies in the non-controlled and acci-dental nature of the relationship between the artwork and the passenger. The public is the key component in the public art.
