People who know how to sail find our beautiful sailing craft great fun.

For those who can’t sail but would like to learn; we can offer first class sailing tuition.

However, if you’re not sure if sailing is for you, why not try our 2 hour taster sails with an experienced skipper?

We also offer discounts to schools and youth groups who are looking to get their youngsters out on the water.

Youth SailingAre you or do you know of a youth group or school with youngsters in need of a change of outdoor activity? Why not bring them sailing?

Youth Sailing2 Hour Skippered SailsIf you would like the opportunity to give your youngsters a sailing experience but are unable to take time off or maybe cannot sail; why not try our 2 hour skippered sail? We can take up to 20 young people and 2-3 supervisors or more on any one day. We provide you with exprienced skippers for each boat and buoyancy jackets for everyone. The Trust offers a 20% discount on 2 hour sails for organised youth groups and schools.

We have school groups, Scouts, Cadets and other types of organisations who are already enjoying the Fleet, coming year after year. They take the whole Fleet or maybe just a few boats, with an experienced skipper on each, and set sail for a week or perhaps just a few days. Why not get your youngsters sailing with Hunter’s as part of your outdoor activity programme?

For mor information call 01692 678263 or email: [email protected]

Please note: For group bookings all stated hire rates are subject to VAT and are calculated as hire rate, less discount + VAT

A special aim of our Trust is to encourage young people to sail on the Hunter Fleet.

They can learn:• discipline• tolerance• team work• how to understand the elements

This in turn can help them to:• take responsibility for self and

others• problem solve• increase their self-confidence

As part of this aim the Trust offer a 40% discount on cabin yacht and half decker hire for all organised youth groups and schools.

Need experienced Skippers? Can’t find enough eperienced skippers for your group? We can put the organiser in touch with experienced sailors who are willing to help as part of their support of the Hunter Fleet.

We believe the education youngsters can get from working with ‘Mother Nature’ and each other can be a ‘life changing’ experience.

Friends of the Hunter FleetThe Friends of the Hunter Fleet was founded in 1996 to maintain a continuing link with the many people who made donations in order to set up the Trust, to act as a “User Group” for the Hirers of the yachts and to help the work of the Trust.

Today ‘The Friends’ enjoys a membership of over 800 families who are very much a part of the Hunter’s Yard environment. They help to provide practical and financial support to strengthen the aims of the Trust in terms of preserving the Fleet; maintaining the traditional skills of wooden boat building and encouraging youth sailing.

By joining ‘The Friends’ you would be:• Assisting with the preservation

and maintenance of the Yard and Fleet

• Supporting the continued use of the Fleet by schools and youth groups

• Helping ensure the craft will continue to be here for everyone to sail

• Helping to preserve a small piece of local history

The nominal annual membership fee is a minimum of only £15 and helps to cover the cost of Newsletters as well as contributing towards donations to the Trust. These donations are used on items for the Fleet, not general running costs, and it makes a very real difference.

Your membership fee offers you:• Two social events at the Yard

each year with free sailings for members

• A professionally produced newsletter three times a year

• A 10% discount on boat hire during Friends’ weeks

We’re always looking for new ‘Friends’ so if you’re not a member yet, why not join today or recommend a friend to? Application forms and gift vouchers are available from Hunter’s Yard, our website or by emailing ‘The Friends’ directly [email protected]
