Multidrug-Resistant Microbial Infection and Therapy Study Outbreak of multidrug resistance bacterium infections has become the

major trouble problem among the human being, livestock farm and fish farm. Therapeutic methods by using antibiotics are difficult to control these microbial infections. Multiple drug-resistant bacterium of Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus cause serious nosocomial infections in intensive care units in every area of the world. New drugs discovery is more delay speed than the bacterial mutation rate, therefore the new therapeutic processes develop is emergent. The therapeutic methods of phage therapy is an old one, because of the antibiotics resistant of bacterium are increased and the old method is remind again. In our laboratory have prepared many obligate virulent phages for combating these multi-drug resistant bacterium. Besides phage, we also study the lysin proteins, bacteriocin and compound extraction from herbs to investigate the proper agent for treating bacterium infections.

Biomarker Investigation for Osteoarthritis Diagnosis Articular cartilage degeneration is a complex heterogenous disease. The

imbalance in cartilage synthesis and degradation is major to the development of articular cartilage degeneration. The diagnosis of OA is generally base on clinical and radiographic change. Other form of imaging used to measure cartilage tissue directly is MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging), however, the limitation of the radiographs for detecting cartilage destruction is that significant cartilage degradation has occurred. Some biomarkers derived from bone, cartilage and synovium are selected to screen the articular cartilage degenerative progression, but most are major in detecting the specimens from serum or synovial fluid.
