• Updating the Ossett and Gawthorpe Community Archive

• Developing students’ knowledge of local history

What we have achieved• Exhibition of Ossett History – Wednesday 25th

February

• 500+ photos added to Archive

• 10 students, 6 staff engaged with the project• Humanities and Community Development Commission

(HCDC)

• Hopefully leading to:• Reconnection between community and heritage• Re-engagement between people and their town• Enhancement of local people’s local knowledge

Ossett and Gawthorpe Community Archive

• Over 2000 photos documenting Ossett’s history

• Photos showing a variety of themes, including…• People• Sport• Education• Transport, amongst others…

• Run by the Friends of Ossett Library (FOOLs – no joke!)

• Curated by Mike Adams

• HCDC has added over 500 photos to the OGCA

• Project Manager’s Keynote Address – 17:45
