DFW Project Objectives• Immediate material needs (completed)
– Warm jackets for winter– Blankets and comforters– Toys for children
• Self-sufficiency– Mobility (driving licenses, automobiles)– Employment (resumes, interview skills, jobs)– Familiarity with American institutions, facilities
• Cultural preservation– Maintain religious & cultural traditions while learning the best of
American culture– Transmit knowledge of and pride in their religious values to
children– Transmit knowledge of Nepali language to children– Document and preserve their unique history

Sewa DFW Accomplishments• First volunteer group to contact Bhutanese• 350 blankets/comforters distributed• 10+ clothing items per family• Toys distributed during holidays (2008 and 2009)• Driving lessons for 20 individuals• Funds collection• Successful partnering with local organizations:
– Sanatana Dharma Foundation– Ekta Mandir– NTHM, HSS, etc.
