NO RUN THIS MONTH

PRESIDENTS REPORT Well, it seems like the male members of the club locked up their wallets as there were only a few brave ladies that ventured out on the last run. The weather turned out beautiful and a few parcels where seen to be placed into Z car boots. I had to do the shopping for Lee-Anne as she was unfortunately down with the flu, much the same as a number of other members as mentioned on the day. We have been promised that “Frank” will be finished by the time you read this so will be taking on the next run, can’t believe we have missed the car so much, real Z car nuts. Talking of nuts, have you ever carried things from house move to house move and are in disbelief that you kept this and that as you have a big clean up? But don’t worry; all car parts are safe as you never know when you may need something, just don’t tell Lee-Anne. Rumour has it that a certain Mk 2 Zephyr is now freshly painted and about to be put back together. Ross, remember that this one has a solid roof just in case you have mixed up some Mk 1 convert parts, we look forward to the finished result. Picked up our Mk1 Consul from garage (WOF) and new staff member could not believe that I use it as an everyday driver because it was in the rain, I mean to say, what are wipers for, and he is not blonde. On a sad note my partner in crime and his lovely wife are on the move. Brian & Christine, on behalf of the club, we wish you a safe journey and thank you both for your support to the club in various roles, (Brian, make sure you boot is full of Tui’s for Twizel). September run is organised by Chris & Rae Brown, their hospitality is always outstanding and a great run for the Z cars, so blow out some cobwebs. Drive safe and see you there, Mike.

SHERIFFS REPORT Howdy pilgrims', You may have noticed that the old Sherriff's not been about the last few runs, I wonder what he's been up to?? Some say that he might be saving his pennies' to purchase another Toy ( Yeh Right!) and others say he could be working for a living! Bugger so that means his dirty work must be done by his Deputys So for those that have braved the last few meetings you have got off light, very light, as that little green pig has not been seen. Watch out Pilgrims' the Sheriff’s coming back and that little pig’s awfully hungry. Deputy.

A NOTE FROM THE QUINN’S Well Christine and I are off on another of life's adventures. We are moving to Invercargill on the 30th of August. I've got a job with a joinery company their painting kitchens furniture, all flash stuff for the Queenstown yuppies. We would like to thank all the members of the Hamilton club for their great friendship over the last six years, you have all become family members to us and we have enjoyed the runs and trips away . Christine and I have found saying our goodbyes to you all the most difficult of all. We will catch up to everyone who makes the trip down to Twizel and I might drop the mag an article or two to let you know how were getting on To the many friends that we don't see before we go thank you for being great mates.. I got to go now the damn key board is full of water. Love Christine and Brian Quinn.

OUR LAST OUTING Ladies Trash & Treasure club run . Hello everyone, Lets start this report with the weather, I could only think of one word and it was not nice to use (##*#) But as we arrived in Cambridge the sun did shine, so thank you thank you oh mighty weather man. Numbers were down, a total of 3 xMK2,s 2 x MK3,s and 2 x MK5,s. But this did mean lots more bargains for us hearty few. Great company and good Coffee can always make a excellent start to a run no matter what the weather does. Lots of cheap goodies and lots of stalls to pick from, Liz was on a mission and our boot was starting to fill, boy that girl can shop. She was certainly making up for those Ladies that missed out. Next call was at Tirau and you guessed it more shopping, a Pub lunch followed by a little liquid and lots of laughter. Liz and I arrived back in Hamilton at 3pm which is when one of us had to have a little nap. A great finish to a great day , a big thank you for all those that came along and for those that rang to say they could not make it. Check out our next club mag for Septembers club run. Oh! and before I forget the Deputy was watching and those that used MK5,s and told such tales to avoid a fine, well done you should start a novel. Cheers (Sleepy) Rod & Liz

MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

A landlord is behind the bar when in walks a businessman. “What’ll you have?” asks the publican. “A scotch, please,” says the businessman. The bartender hands him the drink, and says, “That’ll be two quid.” “What are you talking about?” says the man, angry. “I don’t owe you anything.” A nearby lawyer turns to the bartender. “You know, he’s got you there,” he says. “In the original offer, which constitutes a binding contract upon acceptance, there was no stipulation of remuneration.” The bartender’s not impressed, but relents as he turns to the first man. “OK, you got yourself a free drink. But don’t ever let me catch you in here again.” The next day, the same businessman walks into the bar – and the landlord is furious. “Get out! I can’t believe you’ve got the audacity to come back!” “What’re you talking about?” says the man. “I’ve never been in this place in my life.” The barman is suddenly embarrassed. “I’m very sorry, but this is uncanny. You must have a double.” The businessman grins at him. “Cheers! Make it a scotch. A skeleton walks into a bar, he orders a pint of beer and a mop….

A blind guy walks into a lesbian bar by mistake. He finds his way to the counter and orders a drink. After a while, he says loudly to the girl behind the bar: - "Hey, do you want to hear a really good joke about blondes?" Silence falls in the bar and in a deep, gravely voice the lesbian to his left says :- "Before you tell your joke, there's something you should know...The girl behind the bar is blonde, the girl by the door is blonde and I'm a 6 foot, 16 stone blonde with a black belt in karate. The girl to my left is blonde and she lifts weights. The girl to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler. Think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still want to tell your joke?" "Not if I'll have to explain it five times…….”
