    Economics Plus

The Masters programme in Economics at Radboud University

    offers you more than just a Masters degree in Economics;

it is a study programme that could be called Economics Plus.

Due to our excellent research reputation in the Netherlands

and abroad, you will participate in a state-of-the-art Mastersprogramme. You will be exposed to the most recent academic

and practical developments in the fields of Accounting &

Control, Financial Economics, International Economics, and

International Economics & Business. Moreover, in addition to

the standard economics package, we will shift your knowledge

frontier by offering you a broad perspective on economics.

This includes incorporating relevant knowledge from related

disciplines such as psychology and sociology into the

programme. Our programmes cover contemporary issues in

economics and business. You acquire in-depth knowledge that

can be applied in todays globalised business world. A major

advantage of the Nijmegen programme in Economics is itsstrong methods orientation. Methods are important in order

to increase our understanding of the world of business, and

the courses are embedded in the broader methodological and

institutional framework. Professors and students interact in

small groups, thus strengthening the academic atmosphere.

    Education and Research

At the Nijmegen School of Management (NSM), the

educational and research programmes of the Economics

department go hand in hand. Since teaching staff is also

involved in research projects, your education is always up

to date with the latest academic developments. This close

link between education and research provides you with the

possibility to build up research skills by actively participating

in academic research during your Economics education in

    Nijmegen.

    Societal relevance

Scientific and societal relevance reinforce one another. For

example, when addressing contemporary issues in economics,

either from a financial, or from an accounting or international

point of view, it is crucial to evaluate these societal develop-

ments from an academic perspective. The Nijmegen programme

in Economics offers you the tools to understand, evaluate and

improve economic decision making. In addition, the programme

teaches you how to think independently and critically about

the way in which economics, accounting and control can be

applied in a professional sense. Your study will provide youwith the research techniques and theoretical frameworks

needed to assess the results of academic research.

    The programme

During the one-year Economics programme, you will take

courses that make up the field of specialisation that you

have chosen: Accounting & Control, Financial Economics,

International Economics or International Economics &

Business. In some courses, you also meet students from

    other specialisations.
