*write it with an opposite (e.g. rough – smooth)

*write synonyms (e.g. awful = terrible, horrible)

*write a sentence with it (Hail destroys farmers’ crops)

*record the words on your MP3 player and listen to them on yourway to school or work

*put the new words in categories or make a mind map
