Decide if location is important

• If I make a lot of deposits each week, I want it to be within walking distance.

Consider the ATM usage

• Many banks have fees while using the ATM that is why I would chose an ATM that is convenient for me with little or no fees.

Decide if online banking is a priority

• Although most banks offer online banking, the smaller branches are limited to online banking. So if I decided I wanted online banking, I would have to go with a bigger branch such as CIBC.

Compare fees and interest rates associated

with each bank• If I am looking to open a bank account I

would compare ATM fees, overdraft fees, and low balance fees. I would be looking for a bank that offers free or very low paying checking account and low or no ATM fees.
