Welcome to the new Clifton Branch Library
Ground was broken for the renovation of the former Parkview Manor on April 21, 2014.
By mid-May, many of the interior walls
were stripped and ready for work.
June, 2014 ‒ the original Solarium walls and porch are removed.
July, 2014 ‒ Work begins on the future elevator.
July, 2014 ‒ Excavation begins for the elevator pit.
August, 2014 ‒ The geothermal wells for the HVAC system are drilled.
September, 2014 ‒ New foundation walls are installed.
October, 2014 ‒ Masons work to install concrete blocks on the exterior.
November, 2014 ‒ The basement is a sea of new wires, pipes, and tubing.
December, 2014 ‒ The drywall is
complete and the walls and roof framing for the new Solarium are
in place.
January, 2015 ‒ Ductwork is in place and the interior wood staining begins.
January, 2015 ‒ The glass is installed for the new rear entry doors and transom.
January, 2015‒ A plasterer makes repairs to the ceiling in the adult reading room.
January, 2015 ‒ Wall tile is installed in the basement restrooms
February, 2015 ‒ The after-hours holds lockers are installed.
February, 2015 ‒ The new individual study rooms in the basement have paint and doors.
February 2015 ‒ Drinking fountains are in place and a kitchenette is now a feature of the
large meeting room.
March, 2015 ‒ The concrete crew begins to form the sidewalk.
March, 2015 ‒ The Solarium walls are finished and the windows are installed.
April, 2015 ‒ The wood flooring is sanded, stained, and sealed.
April, 2015 ‒ Gravel is spread before the laying of new asphalt.
April, 2015 ‒ The steel stair structure for the second floor emergency exit is assembled.
April, 2015 ‒ New landscaping is planted around the parking lot.
April, 2015 ‒ A wood carver installs a custom-made missing piece on the
original fireplace mantel.
Early May, 2015 ‒ Shelving is added in the basement and solarium is completed.
