How to visualize cavity flow simulation using Paraview – basics

1. Data Loading

Start Paraview

Open OpenFOAM file

Select “All files (*)” in Files of type,select “cubic.OpenFoam”, & click “OK”

Select “OpenFOAM” and click “OK”

2. Pressure Profile

Go to Properties (left column),click “Mesh Regions” and “Apply”

Select “surface” and (small) “p”

Go to “Display” and click “Edit Color Map”

Click “Rescale to Temporal Range”

Click “Choose Preset”, select “Blue to Red Rainbow” and “OK”

Click “Make Default”, “Apply” and “Close”

Click “Rescale to ...” and play button

You see the pressure profile. Go toFilters → alphabetical → Cell Centers

3. Velocity Profile

Go to Properties → Apply

Go to “cubic.OpenFoam” click Glyph → Apply

Select “Scale Mode” = off and Click Apply

Note that “cubic.OpenFoam” is shadowed.

Click “cube.OpenFoam” and include “Stream Tracer”
