How to use Online Mapping
Use the link which can be found on our website through our planning pages or
copy and paste this address in to your web browser.
http://mapping.rother.gov.uk/eggpgui/
This will now load the online mapping application.
Please note the application will take some time to load, up to 90 seconds.
Please be patient.
The application will appear as shown below.
Choose which map you would like to load from the selection listed on the left
hand side (LHS).
2
This will now bring back a map. As an example ‘Article 4’ has been chosen.
3
On the LHS beneath the list of maps you will find what data is available to you.
Use the scroll bar to show all the relevant datasets. If you chose to add or
remove data (by ticking/unticking the boxes) then you will need to click ‘APPLY’
which is found at the end of the list of data.
This will then reload the map with the new selection of data.
4
On the top header of the page there are three fields which allow you to search
our address database. As an example ‘ROSE COTTAGE’ has been entered into
the ‘Name/No’ field. Click ‘Find address’
The results for properties named ‘Rose Cottage’ will be displayed in a table.
5
Field widths can be moved within the table by selecting the right hand side
(RHS) filed box edge and moving left or right.
Click and select ‘show’ to view the appropriate property.
6
This will then zoom in on your chosen location and a green flag will show you
the property you have chosen.
Directly to the left of the map there are other navigation tools.
The compass points will move you up, down, left, right and back to previous
view, in the centre.
The + - drag bar will zoom you in or out.
There is a zoom area icon whereby you can draw a box on the map for a
chosen area. Left click and hold to draw the box.
7
Under the ‘Find Address’ button is the ‘Navigate to’ button this opens up a
selection of pre-defined areas. This will increase in the future.
By selecting one of the pre-defined areas you will be taken to your chosen
area.
8
On the LHS there is a ‘Keep my location fixed’ tick box, which when ticked will
be fixed for any choice of map you choose.
As an example ‘Planning Applications’ has been chosen and you can now see
the applications in that area.
To see the data for a planning application use the ‘Query Map’ option and click
in a polygon to access a table which will give you the planning application
details. From this table you can access our Planning website by clicking on the
planning application reference number.
9
On the LHS there are two other tabs called ‘ SEARCH’ and ‘TASK’
‘Search’ opens up a new screen and you can choose either
A postal address
An item on the map selection of overlay data
My nearest
Fill in the relevant details for each criteria and click search
10
Under ‘task’ there is Print Map option
Fill in the fields and it will print to your local printer.
Help
At the foot of the LHS pane there is a ‘Help’ option if you need more detailed
information.
