KIENHOC PLATFORM

• Kienhoc is a Vietnamese nonprofit organisation, founded in September

2015, by a team of young Vietnamese with a passion for education.

• Their Mission is to make world-class education accessible for every

Vietnamese.

• Problem is that most MOOCs are available in English and not in Vietnamese.

• They selected MOOCs with an open licenses to translate.

• Translation of courses is done via crowdsourcing with the help of hundreds

of volunteers.

• The MOOC was used to create a new campus course

• Cycles of improvement at campus and online

• Direct access in LMS vs. Interaction with a broader community in MOOC

Page 19: How to use MOOCs in Campus Education

19

4. Teachers’ perspective (1)

• Engagement of campus students

(Flipped classroom)

• Study the material together

• Most cases an increase in the final grade
