    PREPARING YOURSELF BEFORE SING-IN MS TEAMS How to activate your Office 365

    1. Visit: https://passport.psu.ac.th/

    2. Click on “Request to activate office 365” on the left menu bar.

    3. Put your PSU Passport and click “Confirm Activate”.

    4. Then, the system will show the below window. You may click “Back to main” or

    close this window and wait for an hour before signing MS Teams.

    3 WAYS TO USING MICROSOFT TEAMS

    There are three ways to use the MS Teams namely 1) Via Web Browser 2) Via Smartphone and

    3) By install the program to PC or laptop.

    1) Using MS Teams via Web Browser

    1.1 Open the web browser and go to this website.

    1.2 Sign in with your PSU Passport account followed by

    "@email.psu.ac.th" (For example, [email protected]) and

    the password is your own password of your PSU passport

    1.3 Verify your account with a code

    that Microsoft will send to your

    phone. Then, click “Yes” to

    stay signed in and click to

    “Use the web app instead”

    for using MS Teams via

    web browser.

    NOTE: If you do not receive the verifying code from the Microsoft, please contact the IT admin

    ([email protected]) to change your phone number in the PSU database.

    2) Using MS Team via Smartphone

    2.1 Download MS Teams with Play Store or Apple Store or Huawei AppGallery and install to

    your smartphone.

    NOTE: In case, you are in China and using Android, please click this link for more information.

    2.2 For the sign-in process, you can follow the process 1.2 and 1.3

    3) Installation to your PC or laptop

    3.1 Download the program from

    this website

    3.2 Click “Download Teams” or

    “More options” to select the

    program which applies to the other

    operating systems. Then, install it

    on your computer.

    - For the sign-in process, you can

    follow the process 1.2 and 1.3

    MS Teams Menus

    There are 7 menus as following,

    Activity: To show all activities that you did in the program.

    Chat: To contact with the lecturer and student via chat, can be private

    or group chat.

    Teams: A space for group working or classroom

    Assignments: To create the questions and check the student answers

    Calendar: To create the appointment and meeting schedule

    Calls: To call with your group or person (It cannot record the

    conversation)

    Files: To open the files which collect in the program.

    CREATING CLASSROOM 1. Click “Teams” on the menu bar and click “Join or create team” or “Create team”

    2. Then, select a team type to “Class” for creating an online classroom.

    3. Name the classroom and click “Next” button.

    4. Add people to the classroom (Recommend to skip this process)

    5. Then, you can see the classroom. There are 3 parts in this page:

    • Services Tab: to show all functions from Microsoft Teams • Teams: to show your classroom’s name and more options (…) to manage your

    classroom

    • Channel: to show the sub-topics and more options (…) to manage your Channel

    CREATING A LINK AND SHARE TO STUDENTS Click on (…) to see more options as shown picture below, select “Get link to team” and copy

    the link.

    1. Go to your course in the LMS2 and click “Turn editing on”. Then, select “+ Add an activity or resource” to create an activity.

    2. Select the “URL” and click “Add”.

    3. Name the link, paste the copied link (from MS Teams) in the “External URL” box and leave

    any message to your students in the description box. Then click “Save and display”.

    ACCEPTING THE REQUEST FROM STUDENTS After the lecturer announced the link to the students, the lecturer should stand by to accept

    the request of students. Note that the system may show the students name in 5-10 minutes

    after the students requested.

    1. Go to MS Teams and click on “Activity Menu”

    2. Click on “Accept” or “Accept all”. STREAMING VIDEO

    1. Click “Calendar” on the menu bar and select “+New meeting” button.

    2. Put the details of your online class such as name, date and time, channel, location and others, then click “Send”.

    3. The established online class will be appeared in the calendar and MS Teams will notify to your students who join your class.

    4. When you click on the established online class, MS Teams will show the details. Then, click “Join” button when you are ready to start the class.

    5. MS Teams will ask you to check your camera and microphone, then click “Join now”.

    SHARING SCREEN 1. Click on “Share” and select the screen that you would like to show your students.

    RECORDING TEACHING VIDEO

    1. Click “More actions”, select “Start recording” and click “Stop recording” when you finish your teaching.

    2. Back to the main screen of MS Teams and click “More added apps” from the left menu bar.

    3. Click “Stream” icon.

    4. Click “Microsoft Stream” on My watchlist to manage your video.

    5. Log in to the system, you will see the below window. 1. Click “Videos” for downloading the video file. 2. Click “More actions” and select “Download video”. Then, you will have a file to

    post on your LMS.

    DEFINING MEMBER PERMISSION 2 parts that you should be set up to limit the actions of your students. First, manage the

    channel for turning off the “Meet now” function of members, and the second, mange the

    permission to change the member permission to be an attendee, not a presenter.

    MANAGE CHANNEL 1. Go to “Teams” menu, select your established course. Then, click “More options” at

    the general channel and select “Manage channel”

    2. Change the permission option to “Only owner can post massages”.

    MANAGE PERMISSION 1. When you start “Meet Now”, click to turn on the “People” tool. Then you will see the

    people bar in your right hand and click at (…) more options and select “Manage

    permission”

    2. The system brings you to the Microsoft website and sign-in with your Office 365 account (Ex [email protected] and your PSU passport). Then, select “Only

    me” in the topic Who can present? And click “Save”
