If so happen you have small canine companion with such behavior, check out these simple and easy ways to train them into a well-behaved small pooch.

Be a Leader. Some people took mistakes on over pampering and petting small dogs because of their cuteness or being too gentle due to their size which sometimes turns out to be an over spoiled pet. This is one of the common reasons for small dogs to be more aggressive and untrained resulting to become very stubborn and hard-headed. It is important to show him you are his leader and master. One good tip to easily train and let the dog follow and respect you as master is to let him wait for your order using his bowl of meal. Set the meal on the floor and whenever he tries to come to it, top him in the chest and look on his eyes and mention your firm stop command. Command him come and ear if you notice he is very calm and submissive, do these trick consistently and gradually longer until you know he is respecting you as master.

Enough exercise. As they need to drain some of their energy, implement a just right amount of exercise that is not too less or too excessive. Depending on the breed and age, let him do some indoor and outdoor play and run for couple of hours. A well-exercised pet is very well-behaved and healthy pet too.

Enough rest, too. Let your dog have his own bed to for small naps and long sleeps. Small dogs love to share beds too, but always have a special place for him to stay and lay down as a territory of his own. Small dogs love to chew too, have some soft and in right size of gnaw or chewable toys that would entertain them for hours which also promote healthy teeth and gums. Enough sleep and good things to play with always make pets healthier.

Stop and control excessive behavior. Small dogs usually love to bark. Very aggressive and excessive barking is a sign of dominance. Make sure understand first if there is something or a feeling that bothers him before concluding he is barking for no reason and just plain over barking like for attention, showing dominance or on random things. As this may result to more aggressive dog, always discourage unreasonable barking by interrupting him or getting his attention. Use bark collar training devices specialized for small dogs if needed. There are varieties of bark control collars that are especially designed and proven safe to interrupt small dog excessive barking so you can fully get his attention and then followed by your commands for better training.

Small dogs are definitely more charming pets and always impressive doing big things despite of their small size. And having a more behaved and happy dog surely gives more meaningful happiness to people around him.
