How to Register for a Placement Test 1. Firstly, you need to register in OPAL and log in using your university login and password.

You should then see a page like the following. Click on Lehr und Lernangebote der TU Chemnitz (see red arrow):

2. then on Sprachenzentrum:

3. Then on the link at the bottom of the list: Placementtests Sprachenzentrum TU Chemnitz

4. You will then see the following window. Click on the language for which you want to take a test in the list on the left:

5. Then choose a time which suits you and click on it:

6. You will then see a list of tests which are running at that time in different rooms. It will also tell you which rooms are already full (Lerngruppe ist voll) with the option of putting your name on a waiting list (Warteliste möglich - NOT recommended for placement tests) and which you can immediately register for (Nicht eingeschrieben ___Einschreiben)

7. Click on Einschreiben (4th column) to register and be sure to make a note of the room number (2nd column) and the time of your test! If you should need to reschedule, you need to de-register from one session before re-registering for the next; double registrations are not possible. Please note that registration for the 2012-13 session ends on Wednesday, 03.10.12 at 23:59 hours.
