It always fascinates people to see a genealogy of musicians perform with unfading glory through time. How much more if generations of them were gathered and made to perform at one time on the virtual screen or on live stage? How inspiring to an aspiring musical family would that be! Most assuredly, raising a family of musicians isn’t just about perfecting those singing or piano lessons together. It takes sufficient inspiration to get the talent move into practice--and eventually, performance. So how does one develop a singing family? How about a family of instrumentalists or a family of diverse musical talents? The things below must have happened one way or another to the families of musicians.

1. The father and the mother are both musically gifted and inclined. They let their musical passion live throughout their married life. In effect, their inclination and interests were also passed on to the children who were growing up in a home filled with music. Eventually, the children enrolled in piano, guitar or violin lessons in response to the passion kindled in them through parental influence and musical upbringing.

2. The parents love and enjoy music while not really considering themselves as able musical performers. Their delight in music cause them to dream for their children. They either encourage or push their children to take keyboard lessons.or any musical lessons--opportunities that they have not the time or resources (or other reasons) to indulge themselves. When the children’s talents were enhanced and they became experts, they turned to their moms and dads and taught them the techniques. Soon, everybody in the family knows how to play some instruments, and together, they blended and produced their own unique, great sound as a family of musicians..

3. The grandparents are musically gifted. The parents are just busy with other interests. The grandchildren get to revive their interest in music through the inspiration stirred by their grandparents’ love and gift of music. They reunite through this mutual interest while the parents get to support the endeavor. Soon, the family is performing.

Well, there are certainly more specific cases than the ones mentioned here, but they all share a basic point that resulted to the domino effect: At least one family member kept the musical interest alive. Then the pattern continues--the interest was shared; another family member was influenced; they agreed; they improved on their talents by taking piano, guitar or singing lessons. Finally, they launched themselves.
