You need a pattern don't you, no problem, just go into your local craft store and look carefully in the costume section here you will find commercial patterns of nice robes, especially in the renaissance and historical sections. Here are two that make good robes, without a lot of sewing experience. simplicity 4795 simplicity 3623 Or, you can enlarge the pattern shown in the images below to make your own with this pattern.

You will need help with measuring unless you have a 3rd arm, because now you have to measure wrist to wrist, with your arms outstretched. This is "measurement A", now measure from the nape of your neck to a point even with your ankle this is "measurement B".

3. Fold your fabric in half, using your A & B measurements cut along the lines shown in figure 1 making a "T" shape this is the part that will go along your shoulders and arms. Cut a hole for your head at the center of measurement "A", on each side sew along the underside of the sleeve, leaving an opening at the "Y" for your arms (Fig.2). Then sew from the armpit down to the bottom of the robe.

4. Add a cord, or rope around the waist, personalize your robe with beadwork, magic symbols, or trimming. You may also wish to consecrate your robe, it is a magical tool just like your other things, do this before you wear it for the 1st time.
