Powered by Mastery Connect
I. Getting started:
Prior to getting started you should have received an activation email from Mastery Connect. This
will allow you to set your grade, subject and private password. If you did not receive this email,
please contact your district technology department to make sure that your name was submitted to
Mastery Connect.
Google Chrome is the preferred browser, Firefox is the second option.
Type www.masteryconnect.com into the address bar.
This brings you to your homepage. It is highly recommended that you watch the 19 interactive
video tutorials. You will be prompted to do so upon your first login. To find the 19 interactive
tutorials, go to your homepage and click interactive tour at the top right. See image 1a below.
These videos are approximately 30 minutes in length.
If you need more in-depth Professional Development tutorials, it is recommended that you view
the Mindful Videos which also can be accessed from your home page. See image 1b below.
These videos are broken up into three different levels. Each level will take approximately 45-60
minutes to view.
1 a Click Continue Tour for the 19 video
tutorials
1 b
Click the cube of squares to the left of
your name, then click Mindful to
access the PD videos. You can then
select introductory, intermediate, or
advanced video tutorials.
II. Create your tracker: You will first need to create a Tracker for each class you teach. http://help.masteryconnect.com/article/create-a-mastery-tracker/
Click on the Tracker tab in the green tool bar.
Click the orange + Add Tracker button in the grey tool bar on the right under your name.
Choose your subject from the drop-down (ex. Math).
Choose your core from the drop-down (ex. CCSS: Traditional).
Choose your class (ex: 6th
Grade).
Type your class name in the description box (ex. Dowd Period 1 Math).
Select a folder color.
Add students to your class tracker by clicking the drop-down arrow next to add students (See image 2a
below).
There are three different ways to add students to your class.
o For CSV file imported students, teachers will click to add students individually, then select add
from SSI, and search for students. http://help.masteryconnect.com/article/import-students-from-a-
csv-file/
o For SIS integrated student files, teachers will select import from SIS, then select the correct
section http://help.masteryconnect.com/article/import-students-from-an-sis/
o You can Click add students individually, this will allow you to add students manually by typing in
their names and student ID #’s.
Click Create Tracker
o Type in first name, last name, and student ID in the appropriate boxes (you can assign a number
other than student ID if you choose but all students must have a unique # (ex. 001, 002, 003). If
not assigned, the program will provide the student a unique number.
o Click orange Save + Add Another button. Repeat process until all students have been added.
o After typing the last student, click orange Save + Close button.
Your tracker has now been set up for this class.
The same steps will be followed when creating trackers for other classes. If the same students are in
multiple classes, you may choose to copy students from another tracker.

to add the item to your SCORE21 assessment (see image 5d below).
If this is a multi-standard assessment being created, after finding items on one standard and adding, change
your standard from the drop-down to find more questions wrapped around the new standard. Repeat the
process to add questions from that standard to the right.
Once you have selected your preferred items for your test, make your scoring selections (see image 5e
below). Total Points Possible will be calculated automatically. Then you will need to determine how many
points your students should earn to show Mastery or Near Mastery. (ex. On a 3 point test, if a student
earns 3 points that could be reflective of a Mastery and 2 points could be reflective of near mastery,
anything below that would be considered remediation)
Click the orange Create Assessment button at the bottom once scoring decisions have been made.
5d
When clicking the
green + button, this
adds the item to your
test and will show up
on the right.
5e
You will then receive a message saying that your test has been uploaded; it will default you to your
standard specific tracker scoring page (see image 5f below).
Your assessment is now ready for delivery within your tracker.
If you are not ready to deliver, simply click back on your tracker name to the left of the orange hamburger
and this will take you back to your tracker where you will notice that the SCORE21 assessment has been
added (see image 5g below).
