the opportunity to get some great rewards!

Simply ensure that you promote and sell only approved towbars to your customers. Each unit you sell will earn youpoints which can be turned into great rewards – from coffee machines to plasma televisions.

Important details1. Your registration in this programme is via email from the dealership dealer principal.

2. Programme applies to sales made from 1st February 2010 until end of programme is notified.

3. Points awarded are for approved accessory sales only. See approved accessory listing.

4. You will need to complete and send through your sales on the approved proof of sales form as each sale is transacted, accompanied by copy of R.O.

Helping your customers choose The Right Towbar

New Zealand towing conditions are unique in the global towing market. With these conditions in mind all approved towbars have been designed to be suitable for their vehicle’s and consumer’s needs.

All vehicles have a towing capacity advised by the vehicle manufacturer. All approved towbars carry this detail on a tamper proof metal label adhered to the towbar tongue. This gives all braked, unbraked and tongue load data. All quality towbars should carry this detail as well as the towbar manufacturer’s identification.

All vehicles must be operated within the manufacturers towing specifications.

All vehicles must be fitted with a safety chain mount – a dual safety chain mount must be used if the trailer weight exceeds 2000kg. Cross the chains over the top of the tongue if required to ensure the drawbeam does not reach the ground if detached from the towball. Ensure enough slack chain is available to allow tight turns.

Always ensure your coupling and ball size are matched – New Zealand uses a mixture of 1-7/8” & 50mm towballs and couplings. Mismatching sizes can be dangerous. For those towing a wide range of trailers with different coupling sizes, the best solution is the use of a quick-change dual towball system.

Loads above 3500kg cannot be towed with a towball. In cases over 3500kg a pintle system is required. These systems are available from Best Bars Ltd who are authorised manufacturers of heavy-duty towbars beyond 3500kg capacity.

All trailers with a total (loaded) weight of 2000kg or more must have trailer brakes fitted. Various systems are required for different loads ranging from a basic over ride brakes to a full electric system.

The maximum trailer towing speed is 90 km/h

All Approved Towbars meet all or a combination of the following automotive standards : • SAE J684, NZS 5467, ADR 62/01, NZS5446

There is only one way to test the quality and strength of a towbar: on the actual vehicle, and in an ‘action’ situation. Not on a workbench, or simulating jigging. Each and every approved towbar design has undergone this rigorous screening and testing.

In manufacturing the approved towbars, particular attention has been given to the ‘fit’ between a towbar and the particular vehicle for which it has been designed. This attention to detail ensures body parts are not flexed, and that chassis, mounting and installation points are not harmed. Each approved towbar has been designed and made by a dedicated team of specialist designers, engineers and manufacturers. They use on-site technology, and only the highest quality materials to develop the best towbar product range.

• All towbars are designed to each vehicles factory towing rating.

• Use of approved towbars correctly fitted will ensure that new vehicle warranty is not voided and your vehicle is not damaged when towing.

• Approved towbars are manufactured using design methods proven by cyclic testing. Design concepts are generally tested to 2 million full load cycles on Best Bars Ltd. test rig.

Terms and Conditions for Approved Towbar Purchase Incentive Programme

1. All details included in this booklet form part of the terms and conditions of the Approved Towbar Purchase Incentive Programme (Programme).

2. The programme commences on 1/2/2010 and closes when participants are advised.3. Best Bars Ltd retain full discretion on whom may participate in the Programme.4. Registration with this Programme is automatic. Sending in a proof of sales form or a claim form deems acceptance of the terms and

conditions of this Programme by the Participant.5. As a participant sells an approved towbar they will earn points advertised. Amarok towbars and approved accessories will attract different

points as advertised. See www.vwdfs.co.nz.6. Audit – Best Bars reserves the right to audit all sales to confirm the legitimacy of the points allocated to a Participant.7. Best Bars will be tracking sales of all Participants. Participants have a right to inspect these sales tracking figures and calculations

through correspondence with Best Bars via fax.8. Statements of each Participant’s points will be emailed monthly to each Participant.9. Rewards may be claimed by Participants anytime during or at the conclusion of the Programme. A reward will be able to be claimed

when a Participant has accrued sufficient points in accordance with this booklet.10. To redeem a reward the Participant must fill in a claim form and email to “Approved Towbar Purchase Incentive Programme” on

[email protected]. This claim form will be provided to the Participant.11. Rewards are to be selected from this booklet only. Goods purchased by individuals will not be covered by points.12. Where any reward is unavailable for any reason Best Bars reserves the right to substitute that reward for a reward of equal value.13. Deadline for redeeming points is 30 days from the notified end of the programme and will be advised to participants. Any points balance

which has not been redeemed after that date will lapse.14. Best Bars accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise for claiming on rewards. Independent financial advice

should be sought.15. Rewards shall only be claimable by the participant named on the account or person formally nominated by them.16. Best Bars reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions of the Programme at any time at its discretion.17. Best Bars accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, incorrectly submitted, delayed or illegible Rewards claim

forms, correspondence or claims for a reward whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, theft, destruction or otherwise.18. Best Bars, its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or

consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Programme or accepting or using any reward, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). All conditions and warranties whether express or implied and whether arising under legislation or otherwise as to the condition, suitability, quality, fitness or safety of any goods or services supplied under the Programme are expressly excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

19. Best Bars may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all Participants from, and prohibit further participation in this Programme by, any person who fails to comply with these terms and conditions, supplies any misleading information or makes any misrepresentation to Best Bars in connection with the Programme.

20. Points and rewards are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Best Bars accepts no responsibility for any variation in rewards value. Points have no cash or monetary value.

21. If for any reason any aspect of this Programme is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of Best Bars which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Programme, Best Bars may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Programme.

22. Points accrued by participants will be voided upon termination of employment from approved EMD dealership. If a participant transfers between EMD dealerships, points will be transferred only with the approval of Best Bars Ltd.

23. MySky Decoder: This offer is for the Decoder and installation only and does not include monthly Sky rental rates or agreements. Either normal MySky or MySky Hi Definition decoders are available. However the MySky Hi Definition decoders may change you monthly retail rate – please check with your Sky provider before making a decision.
