This document presents a step-by-step procedure on how to connect to a Virtual Courtroom proceeding from any external location, using one of the following methods: 1. Any Internet Browser (Preferred method). This method allows users to share their computer screen with other participants, in order to present a photo, document, or e-mail message. 2. Mobile Device (iPhone/iPad/Android) IMPORTANT NOTES: - The Jabber Video app stops the VTC when an iPhone/Android smartphone receives a phone call. As a result, we recommend using the “Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode” or using a mobile device to connect to VTC only as a second option. - The Court is not responsible in providing technical support related to hardware/software or incompatibility matters using the Cisco Jabber application to non-court personnel/equipment. How to Connect to a Virtual Courtroom Proceeding Using Video Tele-Conference (VTC)

Introduction A video tele-conference (VTC) is a live, visual communication connection between two (2) or more people in separate locations. This document presents a step-by-step procedure on how to connect to a Virtual Courtroom proceeding from any external location, using one of the following methods:

1. Any Internet Browser (Preferred method). This method allows users to share their computer screen with other participants, in order to present a photo, document, or e-mail message.

2. Mobile Device (iPhone/iPad/Android) IMPORTANT NOTES: - The Jabber Video app stops the VTC when an iPhone/Android smartphone

receives a phone call. As a result, we recommend using the “Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode” or using a mobile device to connect to VTC only as a second option.

- The Court is not responsible in providing technical support related to

Before You Begin

You will receive from the Courtroom Deputy a calendar invitation or an e-mail, including the following information for the Virtual Courtroom proceeding:

1. URL link with the Conference Center Number.

2. Conference ID

3. PIN/Password

IMPORTANT NOTE: The District Court recommends that external parties establish a connection at least 15 minutes before the proceeding to check proper equipment operation.

From an External Location using any Internet Browser

Follow these steps to connect to a Virtual Courtroom Proceeding using a VTC connection from any external location using any Internet browser:

IMPORTANT NOTE: once connected to the VTC using Jabber Guest, DO NOT add/remove any USB device from your computer (e.g. webcam, headset, mic, etc.). That will disrupt your connection and you will need to reconnect.

Step Screen

1. In any Internet browser, open the URL link with the Conference Center Number, included in your calendar invitation: https://aomobile-east.uc.uscourts.gov/call/4000000

2. Click Download to install the Cisco Jabber Guest Browser Plug-in.

3. Click Run.

5. Click Always Allow.

6. Click Call.

8. In the dial keypad, type the Conference ID included in your calendar invitation

9. Type the Pin/Password included in your calendar invitation.

10. Wait for other parties to join.

11. To start sharing your computer screen during a proceeding, to present a photo, document, e-mail message, etc. click the Content sharing button. NEW FEATURE

Content Sharing - Enabled

12. To stop sharing your computer screen during a proceeding, click the Content sharing button again. NEW FEATURE

Content Sharing - Disabled

From an External Location using a Mobile Device

Follow these steps to connect to a Virtual Courtroom Proceeding using a VTC connection from any external location using a mobile device:

1. To install the Guest Access – Cisco Jabber app in your mobile device, open your application store:

• iPhone / iPad: App Store

• Android: Google Play

2. Click Search.

3. In the search bar, type jabber.

4. Click Search.

5. In the Guest Access – Cisco Jabber app, click Get.

NOTE: not required or might be different on Android devices.

6. Open the Guest Access – Cisco Jabber app installed in your mobile device.

ANDROID DEVICES

- open the provided Conference Center Number URL, directly from the calendar invitation or email. e.g. https://aomobileeast.uc.uscourts.gov/call/4000000
