It’s important when you’re a parent to strike a balance between a happy home
life and happy work life!
We understand that being a working parent can become tiring and stressful at
times, but this SlideShare will provide you with ten tips to becoming a happier
parent.
So, if you think you’ve become worn down as a parent and want to bring the fun
back into the relationship with your kids this, SlideShare will help you and your
family!

1. Organise Yourself
Getting yourself organised
can have a dramatic effect on
your overall happiness. Just
make sure your plans are
realistic. If you know what’s
happening and when, your
stress levels will drop as you
ease into your routine!

2. Do You Do Too Much? Slow Down!
As we previously mentioned,
make sure you organise things
that are realistic! You’re sure to
wear yourself out if you try to take
your children to every after-school
club and fit in yoga at 11pm, so
stop and think, are you doing too
much?
Dropping a few things can’t do
any harm and you’ll find yourself
happier, with more energy! Plus, if
you force too much on your child,
they may not find the ability to
entertain themselves.

3. Nobody’s Perfect
First things first, the perfect
parent DOSEN’T EXIST! So
if you have visions in your
mind of the perfect parent
ignore it. Even if you know
other parents who make it
look easy, that doesn’t make
them perfect! Everyone’s
different, so don’t beat
yourself up about it! If you
feel like you have a
weakness, address it and
work on it!

4. Neither Are Your Children!
We can admit that we were
never the perfect child, and
chances are you, reading this,
weren’t either! I’m sure your
friend will boast about how
good their children are, but will
they really include all the bad
bits? NO!
Children have a lot of exploring
to do and things may go a little
wrong, but don’t worry, they’ll
bounce back and things will
get easier!

5. You Can’t Solve Every Problem
Do you try too hard to be
Superdad at every opportunity?
Maybe this isn’t helping as much
as you may think. As your child
gets older they’ll need to deal
with their issues themselves.
When will your child learn to
solve problems if you’re always
doing it for them?
Being a good parent means you
are there for them as a guide,
but let them get on with their
own life!

6. Share The Workload With Other Parents
Splitting the workload between a
number of parents can make life that
little bit easier for you. Whether it’s
taking it in turns to pick up each other’s
kids from school or taking them to
activities, it’ll always free up a bit of
spare time for YOU.
This can also increase friendship bonds
between both the children, and you and
the fellow parents. Just make sure some
parents don’t take advantage!

7. Issues? Deal With Them
We guess there’s such a
thing as being too nice, is
there any point in keeping
someone else happy if it
means you’re always
unhappy? NO. So identify
what needs to be done and
do it to make everyone smile!
And get it done quick, before
you find yourself too deep in
something and you can’t get
out of it!

8. Don’t Forget To Please Yourself
So, hopefully now you’ve
realised that you don’t need
to be perfect, don’t need to
do 35 extracurricular
activities a week, and you’re
organized, you’ll have a bit of
time on your hands. This time
is for you. So make the most
of it and enjoy yourself.
Spend quality time with your
partner or friends - it’s just as
important as spending time
with your children.

9. Let Go. Then Get Over It
After mentioning finding
things that bother you and
doing something about it,
some smaller issues just get
thrown aside, and that’s
okay! Life is definitely not
perfect, so let the smaller
things go. Take a step back
and see how these little
things aren’t going to affect
your life in the grand scheme
of things.
