Once you have selected your course, read through the information. You will see an option to ‘APPLY ONLINE’.

To fi nd a course, click on the ‘COURSES’ part of the website and scroll through until you fi nd the one you are interested in applying for.

When registering, just complete the information form and click ‘REGISTER’.

In the next section, you are required to fi ll out some personal details and answer questions.

7 8 You will then have the opportunity to let the college know a bit more about you; your past work experience, career goals and any hobbies or interests you pursue in your spare time. This is optional but could help your application if you fi ll it in.

The next task will be to fi ll in your qualifi cations. There are options to pick them from the list or write your own if some aren’t available in the drop down.

You can also state whether it is your predicted grade or your actual grade. This is helpful if you haven’t yet received your GCSE or A Level results.

You will be asked to state your preference of campus. Some of our courses are taught at more than one campus so you may have the option of attending the campus that is convenient for you. We cannot guarantee that the campus of study you select will be where your studies take place.

Once all the grades are fi lled out, there is a brief ‘ABOUT YOU’ section in which it is compulsory to say why you wish to be on the course. You also should state at this point if you are under 18 and not in education or if you are on any benefi ts i.e. JSA or ESA.

Now it’s nearly all done. If applicable, you will need to state what school you currently attend. For the very last section you answer a couple of questions about being contacted in the future and sign the data protection act to submit your form by writing your name in the box.

Click ‘SUBMIT FORM’ and your form has been sent off!

You should receive an email confi rming your application and will receive more information at a later date.

1. I’ve forgotten my password, what do I do?

On the login screen, click on the ‘Forgotten Password?’ link. You will be asked to submit your email address and an email will be sent to you with further instructions.

2. Some of the personal information on my application form from my profi le is incorrect, how do I change this?

At the top of the page there is a link that says ‘update my profi le’. By clicking on that link, you will be able to make any amendments. Your application will automatically be updated.

3. When fi lling in my qualifi cations section, my subject isn’t on the drop down list?

The qualifi cations list is made up of some common qualifi cations that people have submitted to us in the past. If you have a qualifi cation that is not listed then simply type it in manually in the box provided. If a message appears stating ‘No Results Match...’ just fi nish typing your qualifi cation and press enter, your qualifi cation will then be added to the list and you can enter your grade and whether it is a predicted grade or confi rmed. Finally, click ‘Add Qualifi cation’ – this will add it to the table and be submitted with your details.

4. I don’t have a contact number for my school?

If you check on the school’s website they should have a number on there. You can then add it to your application.

5. I don’t know what JSA or ESA are?

They stand for ‘Job Seekers Allowance’ and ‘Employment and Support Allowance’. You should leave this section blank if you are not claiming these benefi ts.

6. I applied for the wrong course! Help?

That’s not a problem, just drop us an email to hello@southandcity.com. State the course you’ve applied for and the course you would like to resubmit your application for. Our admissions team will be able to get everything changed over for you.

7. I’ve applied for a course but I’m not sure that I can afford the fees?

We understand that fi nance is a big part of the decision making process when you want to choose a course.

There are a number of options depending on your circumstances. At South and City College we have student support offi cers available who will be able to advise you of the best path to take. Feel free to come into our next open day (LINK TO OPEN DAY DATES?) or give us a call on 0800 111 6311 and ask for student services.

8. I don’t know my national insurance number?

This is not a compulsory part of the application form but it is useful to know your NI number. All eligible for an NI Number are sent it at around 16years old. If you have not received one or need to fi nd yours, get in touch with the NI helpline on 0300 200 3502.

9. My learning diffi culty is not on the list?

This is an error with the system; if you tick the box marked ‘Other’ then we can fi nd out more details at a later stage.

10. I am an asylum seeker, am I still able to enrol on my chosen course?

Yes you can, however you need to bring in evidence of your home offi ce letter showing you are receiving NASS support. You must also have an IND card.

11. I have pressed submit but my form isn’t submitting?

Check and see if you have fi lled out all the fi elds correctly. If you believe all details have been completed, call us on 0800 111 6311 and we can try to assist.

After you have fi lled out your application you can log back in at any time to check the status of it by going onto your profi le and clicking on the ‘applications’ tab.
