After this lesson you will be able to:

• Identify the origin/history of concerning cattle breeds in TX.

• Identify physical characteristics and breed characteristics of cattle in TX.

• Determine if breeds mentioned are British, American, or Continental

• Complete handout and a short quiz at the end of the lesson that relates to breeds traits, and characteristics.

• As well as sample products that come from cattle. (ie: McDonalds hamburgers)

• At this time discuss with your neighbor any relevant information that you know on cattle. (i.e.: Breeds, uses, etc.)

A Trait is: a distinguishing characteristic within a specific

breed of cattle.
