Fossil fuels are natural substances made deep in the earth from the remains of the ancient plants and animals.

Heat and pressure turns decomposing remains into fuels.

The fossil fuels are oil, natural gas, petroleum and coal.

This all stars from sunlight.

Sunlight gives potential energy to the plants from which fruits and vegetables grow.

Animals - Then we and the animals eat the food using kinetic energy converting to chemical potential energy.

Plants - The plants grows using kinetic energy taking potential energy from the sunlight, air and water.

Animals – We and the animals grow using kinetic energy taking chemical potential energy from the food we eat.

Plants - The plants die, but still some potential energy is left.

Animals – Animals die but still some potential energy is left. After many years the animals decompose to fossil fuel.

Plants – After many years the plants decompose to fossil fuel.

The fossil fuels are been used to generate electricity.

The coal is put in a machine called pulverize. Which uses kinetic energy to crush the coal to a fine dust. The coal gets potential energy when it is been crushed.

The pulverized coal is transferred to a machine called Furnace.

The furnace is surrounded with tubes filled with water.

The furnace burns the coal using kinetic energy.

The coal starts heating up using its potential energy.

The intensity from the burning coal heats the water by using kinetic energy.

The water turns into steam getting chemical potential energy from the heat.

The stem is transferred under pressure and high speed through large pipe to a machine called turbines by using kinetic energy.

The steam gets more potential energy.

The turbine is connected toa generator that containsthe roller.

Large electro magnets areattached to the roller the islocated with copper wires.

As the generated rollerspines using kinetic energy,a flow of electrons arecreated in the stir. Thisproduces electricity andtransfers it to us usingtransmission lines.
