Understand that you are now in Christ serving the people like Jesus did when he was on earth. You serve by using the power of the Holy Spirit.

When you are trying to spiritually discern a person place or thing, use these three points of reference.

Reference point 1: God is Love. So discern with a loving sacrificial spirit.

Reference point 2: Read Jesus (the word)…The Bible is full of scriptures that relate to everything that you are currently encountering and every thing that you will go through. The Holy Spirit won’t bring remembrance to scripture you never read.

Reference point 3: The Holy Spirit will convict, confirm, comfort, and guide you when you prayerfully ask. Even if you don’t ask the Holy Spirit will give guidance. You determine your own level of sensitivity to the leading of the spirit. Unfaithfulness and Unrepentance are two ways for your heart to be callous to the Holy Spirit. But Faithfulness, Repentance, and quality time with the Lord can lead to miracles and breakthroughs.

HOW DO YOU USE SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT?

We Worship – Heavenly Father, Your love reaches to the heavens and surrounds the earth. We, Your people, exalt and extol You. Your name is great and greatly to be praised. There is one word we can all join in an proclaim: that is “HALLELUJAH”! We worship You in spirit and in truth.

Your Will – Let Your will be accomplished here. That which is already done in the heavenlies, make them so here. Let Your will be done concerning our healing & health, our heaviness, our helping others, and our handiwork.

Our Petition – We ask You to help us to discern between right & wrong, good & evil, light & darkness. Guide us with the Word, Your Truth. Concerning the upcoming elections: we invite You into our decision making process. You know, therefore we listen and learn. You already know who will be in office. Give us clarity in thought and continuity in our thinking.

Our Forgiveness – We ask forgiveness for things we may have spoken against Your heart. Give us the grace to repent and turn to You for everything.

Your Protection – Watch over us and protect us from all hurt, harm and danger. As a nation and as a people, we pray for Your hand to lead and guide us. Encamp Your angels around us and give us peace. Protect our homes and families, our loved ones and our church.

We Praise – For all of who You are, for everything You’ve done, for Your mighty hand outs, for each gift given and every spiritual insight: Thank You.

INTRODUCTION

THE DEVIL FOUGHT AGAINST IT

Welcome to the Battleground! The Good News is…we have already won the war. John 19:30 reveals to us the exact moment of our victory. John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Genesis 3:15 reveals to us the original promise that victory would be ours. Christian theology calls it the “protoevangelium.” In Greek this means the “First Gospel.” Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

The devil did not want the First Gospel to be fulfilled. That is why all throughout the Old Testament multiple attacks were made on the chosen people of Israel. Like Israel, Jesus, is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. If Satan would have succeeded in destroying the nation of Israel then Jesus would not have been born according to Old Testament prophecy (Isaiah 7:14 14). But since Christ was born and crucified as per all the prophecies the first and second gospel have been fulfilled. Long story short WE WON! 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

The reason I say we is because we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and we will go to Heaven. Revelation 21:4-5 ...and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

How can there still be a battle if we’ve already won the war? What is left to fight for? Territory.Keep in mind that the anti-christ, the false prophet and the beast will not be going to heaven. The fallen angels and demons will not be going to heaven. The unbelievers will not be going to heaven unless they come to believe. On this Battleground we fight for the territory of the unbeliever’s soul.

THE ORIGINAL PROMISE

HOW CAN THERE STILL BE A BATTLE?

To fight against flesh and blood on this Earth is the only way that man and animal know how to fight. This is what’s known as fighting in 3D. 3Dimensional fighting, for the most part, is confined to the limitations of gravity. With the exceptions of missiles, satellites and space stations, 3D fighting takes on earth.

FIGHTING IN 3D

We as believers struggle with our enemies in another way. It is in spiritual warfare where 4Dimensional fighting is the only way to fight.

What came first 3D or 4D?Most Biblical Scholars believe that the casting out of Satan and the fallen angels came after day 6 of creation and before Adam ate of the fruit causing the fall of Man. The brief war that Satan and the fallen angels waged against God was a 4dimensional War all spirit no flesh and blood.(Isaiah 14:13)

AT THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDThere is a spiritual war in the beginning of the Bible and there is a prophecy of the spiritual war at the end of the Bible.

Revelation 12:7-9And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

You need a winning strategy. Spiritual discernment is the only winning strategy when fighting in a 4dimensional battle. Read: Acts 16:16-34

Acts 16:16-19...It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.” She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the market place before the authorities...

A WINNING STRATEGY

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

DISCERNMENTWhat is Discernment? The definition of discernment: the ability to perceive truth. Worldly Example: just because you paint an apple yellow and call it a banana it doesn’t mean it’s a banana.

We are born with five senses that allow us to perceive, investigate, and identify the truth about a person, place, or thing.

Spiritual Discernment is “The real Sixth Sense” and it can only be accessed by those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit. John 16:8-9, 13 “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
