How do I renew my expired Car Insurance policy?

1. Intimate your Insurance

Company or Agent immediately.

2. In case your policy has

renewed a few days ago, you can expect to renew your policy in the usual way.

3. However, if the policy has

expired several weeks ago,

your application will be considered

a fresh one and a surveyor will inspect your

vehicle for any damages.

4. Pay more: Since your policy has

lapsed, you will no longer be

eligible for your no-claim bonus and will have to

pay extra premium.

Can I cancel my Car Insurance Policy?

Car Insurance companies provide a minimum ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days to the customers in which they are free to

cancel their policy

After the cooling off period, the company will charge you a certain amount depending on the number months which have

passed from the policy period

However, keep in mind that you are not eligible for a refund after 8 month of your policy period.

You have to intimate Car Insurance Company and request the cancellation of your policy.

Once, the request has been processed and the necessary details have been provided, cancellation takes places in

approximately a week.
