HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS OUR AUDIENCE?

Page 2: How did you attract/address your audience?

DisplayTo attract my target audience concentrated a lot on the appearance of the cover so it acts as the pull so people who walk past are draw to the design of the cover.

Cover Star:The Cover Star, an 18 year old male, looks like a stereotypical fan of indie/alternative music so the target audience can relate to the cover star, I chose the outfit for the cover star to show a rebel-ish teen, with a hoodie, black t-shirt and skinny jeans. He is also in an unusual stance compared to a dull standing posture, this is used to create a uniqueness.

Colours:The colours of the magazine are based on the name of the magazine itself, Indigo. Throughout the magazine the colour schemes will be different shades of purple, white and black. The reason for the purple, as well as it is being related to the name is that it is commonly associated with uniqueness and it was also chosen in a questionnaire that I produced to be the most desired colour for the magazine, it also contrasts well with the other two neutral colours

Content

The content of the magazine is very important to the attraction of the audience as that is thee main reason people buy music magazines, to keep up with their favourite bands and to find new bands/ artists.

In my magazine, the content contains all the most popular artists and bands in each issue as well as including smaller bands that are upcoming in the music world to introduce people to them . This comes on the feature I have created that will be in every issue of the magazine called The Scout where small bands are reviewed and presented detailed profiles on.

As seen on the contents page (right) the magazine features bands old and new, from Joy Division and The Stone Roses to more recent bands like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Slaves, this makes the content readable and enjoyable to people of many age groups .
