How did the riots start?• The riots started by a group of teenage

Lebanese-Australian kids physically attacked a surf lifeguard.

• Then the Australians reacted and then the Lebanese reacted back.

• So both sides were in the wrong.

How many people joined in on the riot?

• There were at least 5000 people in the Australian mob.

• The reason that so many people joined in on the riot was because the text messaging was to text more people to come to Cronulla.

• It was like they texted them to come and cause more trouble.

How did the Lebanese attack back at the Australian?

• The Lebanese attacked back by going Through some of the local Sydney beaches and smashing cars, egging houses and starting fights.

Why did the Australians bash the ones that were innocent?

• They bashed the ones that were innocent because they wanted to get the Lebanese out of Cronulla. Obviously that didn’t happen.

• They also bashed the innocent because they hated them and they just wanted to warn them that this is our country “if you do anything again this is what is going to happen.”

How did this shape the Australian Identity?

• This shaped the Australian Identity by making us aware of the racism in our community and giving us ways to solve the racism.
