What is energy?

Before we can save energy, we must find out what is energy.

Our society depends on energy. With its help we can move cars, send rockets to space, we can toast bread, heat a room, light the streets and many others. Modern life can`t be conceived without energy.

ElectricityElectricity Most of the discoveries of the last century couldn’t have been made without electricity. It is used everywhere.

If we run out of electricity, this is what would happen: no electric light, crash of informatic sistem, huge problems with transport (trains, planes, cars etc)- those that will remain, will be used only during the day at full capacity (no light for lighthouses) a huge gap in communication (telephones of any kind, radio, TV, internet).

Methods for saving Methods for saving energyenergy

So if energy is essential to life it is important to save it.So if energy is essential to life it is important to save it. There are simple methods to save energy in your own There are simple methods to save energy in your own house.house.

1. Turn off electronics when you leave the room or going 1. Turn off electronics when you leave the room or going to bed. Many people sleep with televisions, videos, to bed. Many people sleep with televisions, videos, computers turned on.computers turned on. When you leave home for several days, remove all devices from the mains - Most appliances have standby functions that consume power even when the device is turned off.

2. When washing the clothes , wash full load, not halves. Also, set the lowest water temperature - not only will you consume less, but clothes will keep their color and quality longer.

3. Make sure the refrigerator is closed right: even a tiny opening can seriously affect its results and wasting electricity. Be careful not to be placed in the sun and have plenty of room in the back for better airflow. To save energy, set a higher temperature in winter.

4. Do not use air conditioners only if absolutely necessary. Try to keepdoors and windows closed during the day and cover them with blindsor finally curtains to block sunlight.

Reduction of fuel Reduction of fuel consumedconsumed

Today, research focuses on converting biomass into alcohol, which could serve as fuel to supplement or even replace gasoline and diesel. Other liquid energy from biomass such as vegetable oils.

Methanol produced by the distillation of wood and forestry waste isconsidered an alternative fuel for transport and industry, at prices that could compete with those obtained from bituminous fuels andcarbon liquefaction.

Ethanol is a cheaper fuel, but the big problem is that you use food resources, such as corn or wheat. But if ethanol were obtained exclusively from food or

agricultural waste, although its production costs would be higher, the effort is justified because it recycles waste.

Besides alcohol we add biogas, the gas form of biomass. This gas with a calorific rather weak, mainly containing methane is produced from organic materials such as sewage or manure.

Solar energySolar panels are a means to capture and use solar energy.Solar panels are a means to capture and use solar energy.

Solar panels are really interesting because they produce free electricity. Underneath this process lies photovoltaic

cell. In short, in contact with sunlight, it produces electricity. To get in detail: photons from sunlight 'bombard' atoms of

the materials from which the photovoltaic cell is made. Under this action, they tend to release electricity. Systems producing electricity with solar panels are reliable and can

last up to 25 years. It is estimated that the cost of producing electricity in this way in a few years it will equal that of

polluting energy.

Wind energyWind energy

Placement of wind aggregates are interesting only areas where

the average wind speed is at least equal to four meters per

second, the standard ten matrix above the ground.

With the exception of mountain areas, where harsh weather conditions make it difficult to install and maintain aggregate, wind speeds at or above the threshold of four meters per second are found in Romania, in Dobrogea. So, for detached houses, wind

energy can only be a complementary source of energy and conditioned by area location.

Geothermal energyGeothermal energy A heat pump is a heating and / or air using heat stored in the earth to heat / air

conditioner housing. Geothermal heat pumps are based on the fact that the temperature in the ground a few feet deep, is fairly constant throughout the

year.

Geothermal heat pumps transfer heat from the ground into the house in winter and summer transfer occurs conversely, the housing into

the ground. Unlike a boiler, a heat pump transfers heat, not produce. Heat pumps are known as geo-exchange systems and

should not be confused with geothermal heating, possible only in areas where the soil is steamy hot from underground hot springs .Type heat

pumps or ground-water-water heat sensor are very similar to water heat pumps, water type. Between ground heat source or heat-

collector and heat pump compact unit travel intermediary agent with low freezing point.

Together we can change the world.

Together we can do what we intend.

Together we can stop the pollution of the planet

and stop the overexploitation of natural

resources.
