How Can the Writing Center Help?
Writing is a challenge for everyone. No matter whether we know a little or a lot
about how to write, we can all benefit from talking to someone about a draft. The
goal of the Full Sail University Writing Center is simple: to help Full Sail students
become better writers.
The Writing Center takes appointments Monday-Friday, between 9:00am and
9:00pm. Evening availability for creative writing and scriptwriting appointments is
limited. Please email [email protected] for available times/days.
Appointments can be scheduled for the current week or up to one week in
advance.
The Writing Center Help Desk is open to on-campus students in the library on
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00pm until 5:00pm for walk-in
appointments. Tutors also offer virtual open house sessions on the first Friday of
every term. Please refer to the Writing Center website on Connect at https://
orgsync.com/50931/chapter for more information.
If you have questions or need an appointment, email the Writing Center at
[email protected] or call (407) 679-0100, extension 2340. Appointments
must be made 24 hours in advance. We may not be near the phone if we are on
campus or in the library, but we always check our email Monday-Friday from
9:00am until 5:00pm.
You can also follow us on Twitter for APA tips, grammar tips, and other helpful
information at https://twitter.com/FullSail. If you’re on Facebook, join our group at

We are able to assist students with:
• Grammar questions
• APA format• Essay-writing and thesis
statements
• Basic creative writing concepts
and issues
• Annotated bibliographies and
research proposal papers
• ESL issues
• Cover letters and resumes
• Parts of longer assignments
• Short scripts (10 pages or less,
to review format and content)
Whether online via instant message
or on-campus, appointments are
one hour, which limits the number of
pages that can be reviewed during a
session. Please note that tutors are
only able to review four pages of an
essay or prose, or 10 script pages,
per one-hour appointment.
Because our goal is to assist
students with their writing, our
sessions engage students in active
learning. In other words, we help
students discover how to approach
revising a paper and fix their own
mistakes (instead of fixing a paper
for them).
