• Part of the duties are “to audit the use and quality of the geospatial data supplied by all certified Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).

• Funding of PSAPs from the CMRS Board will be contingent on passing the audit.


• Geospatial Requirements

• Mapping Component

• Display the X, Y coordinates of incoming wireless 9-1-1 calls on digital base maps used by the PSAP

• Identify the incoming call on the map

• Identify the closest address to the X, Y; or

• Display the cellular tower position and the face/sector of the tower


• Geospatial Requirements

• Road centerline accuracy

• Minimum of 20 random points in each county and/or each PSAP area if it is a municipal PSAP

• The points shall– Plot on the same side of the

centerline segment

– Plot between the same intersecting streets

– Plot within 0.1 mile (528 feet) of each other


• Three areas of audit– Verify the mapping component functionality– Verify the geospatial accuracy of the base maps

using the software and data in the PSAP– Verify that the wireless 9-1-1 calls process

correctly.• Phase 0, Phase 1, or Phase 2• Plot correctly• Record data correctly• Transfer correctly
